He began cooking after watching the programme 'Essen wie Gott in Deutschland' (Eating like a god in Germany) and as a young apprentice never dreamt that he would one day be chef de cuisine in the famous Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg. So you see, hard work does pay!
