Lunch, brunch and wine bar at the Mural

Munich Michelin-starred restaurant expands its product range

MUNICH. To kick off the warm season, Mural Restaurant is expanding its "eat local.drink natural" fine dining concept - making fine dining in Munich particularly accessible for the summer: the highest quality on the plate and in the glass will also be available for lunch and Sunday brunch, as variable dinner menus and also as a "Mural Vinothek" from 9 April 2024. This also means that you no longer have to allow at least three hours for Michelin-starred cuisine at Mural.</p

<p>After the end of the Easter holidays in Bavaria and just in time for the start of the "terrace season" in Munich, Moritz Meyn and Wolfgang Hingerl's Mural Restaurant is launching its spring and summer concept:

"We want to deliberately make it easier to access Michelin-starred cuisine this year. We don't want anyone to think: 'Fine dining is getting too expensive' or 'I can't manage three hours for dinner with the kids at home' or 'Why can't I decide for myself whether I come to dinner at 6, 7 or 8 pm? "Because we want to enjoy the summer together with all our guests in a really relaxed way, with an extended "eat local.drink natural" offer in the Mural Restaurant, which you can get on many occasions with always the best quality on the plate and in the glass. We continue to cook at star level, just adapted to the needs of our guests."

<p>Lunch from Thursday to Saturday 12-14 and brunch on Sunday from 11-15

New at the Mural Restaurant is the Mural Lunch, which is served from Thursday to Saturday - the dishes prepared by head chef Joshua Leise and his team change daily, depending on the availability of ingredients from local partners or, in summer, the harvest from the restaurant's own garden.

Guests can choose à  la carte or a 2-4-course combo (32 EUR / 42 EUR / 58 EUR), served in the courtyard from 12 noon to 1 pm, weather permitting, and in the restaurant whatever the weather.

"We have given ourselves two guidelines when creating our dishes for lunch: To keep the creativity of our well-known menu courses and also give guests the full enjoyment in 45 minutes - because that's how long you have in a standard lunch break," says Joshua Leise about lunch at Mural. "If our guests want to sit for longer, then we're happy of course ... because we also stay open after 2 pm."</p

<p>On Sundays, lunch turns into brunch for the weekend - this was already served once a month in previous months, but due to popular demand, the Mural Brunch is now available every Sunday, as a 4-course menu (45 euros) or à la carte.

Mural Vinothek from Thursday to Sunday 2-5pm: cold cuts, bread and fine wines from the cellar

The Mural has been known for years for what is probably the largest selection of high-quality and unusual wines in Munich city centre - for which Mural co-founder Wolfgang Hingerl is responsible. This fine selection is now also being made even more easily accessible:</p

<p>"Whether it's just a detour while shopping or a glass at lunchtime because the sun is shining - we open bottles in our vinotheque that were previously only on the wine list for dinner or perhaps offered in the wine accompaniment," says Hingerl about the philosophy of the Mural Vinothek. "Whether light summer wines or complex rarities, we will always offer a selection of around 30 wines from our cellar, some of which are available by the glass, at very fair prices. The Vinothek should simply be fun, it's a place for easy enjoyment in the warm season."

<p>The Mural Vinothek serves Munich bread and regional sausage to accompany the wine - as well as cheese specialities from the partner businesses.

Evening menu from Wednesday to Saturday in 4 or 5 courses - and guests can add courses

In the evening, Fine Dine menus continue to play the main role at Mural - but here too with slight adjustments that make it possible to enjoy star cuisine in 90 minutes:

"We are moving away from the strict regulation that our guests have to start the menu by 7 p.m. at the latest in order to be able to enjoy the courses over the course of the evening in three to four hours. This is no longer in keeping with the times, some people want to start earlier, others can only come to dinner later. From now on, this is possible with us - and you can still order a menu at 8.45 pm, which is perfect on long summer evenings," says Moritz Meyn.

<p

<p>From April, the standard menu at Mural from Wednesday to Saturday will be two menus of four or five courses - both vegetarian and with fish and meat (4 courses EUR 109, 5 courses EUR 139). Those wishing to enjoy more than five courses can continue to do so at Mural: Changing add-ons complement the menu cards and can be added individually.
