Modern classics directly on the Spree

BERLIN. the early bird catches the worm, at least if you spend it at the Ganymed Brasserie. In addition to the extensive breakfast menu, you can now also enjoy real brunch classics from 9am. The restaurant on the Spree is also bringing the popular simplicity of French lunch culture to Berlin. The focus is now on specialities from France at any time of day - and in good weather on the large terrace with a view of the water.

Whether it's a legendary croque, served here as Madame, Monsieur and Vegetarien on brioche, or a tartine with 70-week matured Gouda or with avocado - with bacon and fried egg on request - on sourdough bread: the recipes are traditional, the ingredients fresh. Eggs Benedict, both classic and in a sophisticated version with salmon and caviar, are the perfect savoury brunch option. Sweet options include ricotta pancakes, chia pudding and blueberry sorbet.

You might think that stylish day drinking was invented in France, where champagne is part of the savoir-vivre around the clock. The Ganymede brunch drinks continue this attitude to life with the Mimosa Cocktail, Moët on Ice, Orange Rosemary Spritz and Le Grand Fizz. Of course, a selection of champagnes, crémants and wines is also available.

For lunch, there are highlights from French country cuisine with various quiches, versatile tarte flambée and salads. Lunchtime is also excellent with traditional dishes from different regions such as choucroute garnie from Alsace, coq au vin from Burgundy or moules frites, which the Belgians dispute with the French as their national dish. Desserts such as Banana Chocolate Crêpe, Macaron Sundae, Fruit Sensation Strawberry or the Ganymed brownie ice cream invite you to take the day at its best.

With its new bistro menu, the Ganymed Brasserie offers a French holiday around the clock - in summer with a view of the Spree on the large summer terrace.

The restaurant has 130 indoor seats and 180 outdoor seats and is open daily from 9:00 to 24:00.

"In terms of meat quality, there are perhaps 1-2 places in the world that I found even more impressive, but in terms of experience, this was perhaps the most impressive steak meal I've ever had."
