The top chefs of Jeunes Restaurateurs Deutschland (JRE) scored highly at the Michelin Guide star awards ceremony on 26 April at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce: 56 stars went to establishments in the association. Two chefs had particular reason to celebrate: Benjamin Unger ("St. Andreas", Aue) and Markus Pape ("Meisenheimer Hof", Meisenheim) were awarded a star for the first time. In addition, the chefs of member restaurant "Villa Mittermeier" (Rothenburg ob der Tauber) and "Tipken's by Nils Henkel", whose culinary concept was developed by JRE member Nils Henkel, were each awarded one star.

"A cuisine full of finesse - worth a stop!" - This is how the Michelin Guide explains what it means when a restaurant is awarded a star. And the "St. Andreas" in Aue and the "Meisenheimer Hof" in Meisenheim are now also worth a stop. Their chefs Benjamin Unger and Markus Pape - who is also treasurer of the association - were awarded a star for the first time this year.

However, this is not the only positive news from the perspective of Jeunes Restaurateurs Deutschland. The "Villa Mittermeier" (Rothenburg ob der Tauber) and the restaurant "Tipken's by Nils Henkel" (Sylt) were also awarded one star each. Chef Thorsten Hauk cooked up the star for JRE Membre d'Honneur Christian Mittermeier's "Villa Mittermeier"; for "Tipken's by Nils Henkel", namesake and JRE member Nils Henkel developed the culinary concept. Henkel is still head chef at the "Bootshaus" in Bingen - René Verse and Uwe Benkowsky are responsible for the day-to-day business on Sylt. "Congratulations to Benjamin Unger and Markus Pape on their first star. And, of course, to all the other winners from our association. This result shows that we create special JRE moments for our guests at the highest level year after year - each of our hotels was able to confirm its rating from 2023," congratulates JRE Germany President Oliver Röder.
