"At Ludwig's, Erik Schmitz also focuses on flavourful combinations and is not afraid to use a distinctive spiciness. His cuisine here has a much stronger Asian flavour and is therefore not a mere copy of what he cooked at "rays". Nevertheless, some stylistic elements can be recognised, such as his consistently creamy, highly viscous sauces. He puts a lot of effort into his dishes, especially the detailed side dishes. This sophisticated cuisine deserves an adequate service. Maybe we just had a bad day when the regulars were missing, but as professional service is part of the overall experience, this was the clear weak point of our visit." (Published in April 2024)
