Great joy at Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden: Ulrich Heimann and his team at Gourmet Restaurant PUR have held their Michelin star for a proud 17 years. Now they can jointly celebrate being awarded two of the coveted stars.</p

<p>The award of the second star fills the passionate chef with pure pride: "I am overwhelmed by this honour. It's a big dream come true for me. The stars reflect not only my performance, but also the great work of my entire team, with whom I work every day.

<p>Heimann impresses his guests with his purist and artisanal style of cooking, which focuses on regionality and innovative lightness. At PUR, guests can expect fine dining at the highest level in a relaxed atmosphere: pure, unadulterated flavours, light, tasty and surprising - far removed from what is familiar and expected. Executive Chef Ulrich Heimann presents his new creations between flattering restraint and atmospheric serenity.

His strong connection to and respect for nature is also reflected in his leisure time, which he spends in the mountains. He finds inspiration in hiking, climbing and ski mountaineering. He also utilises the peace and quiet he gains in the mountains and his confidence in teamwork in his job. "Cooperation is crucial in the kitchen and makes each individual strong." The fact that he has now scaled another culinary Olympus fills him with pride.</p

<p>Werner Müller, General Manager of the Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden, is also visibly proud of Heimann's success: "We are delighted about Uli's double star award. His extraordinary creativity and tireless dedication are not only an enrichment for our guests, but also characterise the entire team. The recognition from the Michelin Guide once again confirms the excellence that we experience at PUR."</p

<p>Background on Ulrich Heimann:

Ulrich Heimann, who grew up in the idyllic Black Forest, laid the foundations for his impressive career there. In 1992, he ventured into the "Prinz Frederik Room" in Hamburg, where he earned his first Michelin star just three years later. Since 2005, the passionate mountaineer has been responsible for today's PUR, formerly known as Le Ciel, in Berchtesgaden. He and his team were awarded a star for the gourmet restaurant back in 2006. "For me, PUR stands for pure passion, masterful cookery and an unwavering love of the product. It fills me with pride to manage such an outstanding restaurant and I look forward to bringing the new design, the space and the concept to life together with my team," says Ulrich Heimann.</p
