At 142.5 meters, the skyscraper has been the tallest office building and a landmark of the city of Leipzig for four decades. Built in 1972 as a section building of the university, the high-rise was designed by architect Herrmann Henselmann, who also gained international recognition as the architect of the Berlin television tower. The restaurant consists of 4 different rooms, each with the names of cities located in the corresponding cardinal points.
