La Pineta was founded in 1964 as the kitchen of the small beach resort where the entire Zazzeri family worked. The queens of the kitchen were great-grandmother Nella, grandmother Anna, and aunt Serenella, while father Luciano was still small but already providing valuable help. The restaurant became famous in the 1970s thanks to its proximity to Bolgheri, a destination for famous names such as Antinori, Incisa della Rocchetta, and Gherardesca. It was this successful combination that earned the restaurant a Michelin star in 2006.
