The location has a long history and has long been controversial as a place for luxury gastronomy. What do you do with an area like Obersalzberg, which on the one hand is a beautiful Alpine landscape, but on the other hand, due to its history as Adolf Hitler's vacation home, implies a terrible past? After the war, the site served as a recreation center for the American armed forces. After it was handed over to the Free State of Bavaria in 1996, the Obersalzberg Nazi Documentation Center was established in 1999 and the hotel complex was built. This has succeeded in restoring the dream setting to a peaceful era that is both livable and informative. Ulrich Heimann creates classic French cuisine, which he prepares or supplements with regional ingredients such as fish, meat, and dairy products wherever possible. An extensive wine list offers the perfect accompaniment to every course.
