The best restaurants in Frankfurt

Andreas Krolik's cuisine at the Lafleur restaurant in Frankfurt is uncomplicated and clear, which particularly benefits his highly acclaimed fish dishes. With a purely vegan menu at two-star level, Lafleur is unique in Germany. Under Valerie Poulter, the team serves Andreas Krolik's dishes with matching wines and drinks. As maître, Boris Häbel recognises the wishes of his guests and ensures an all-round perfect experience. The Lafleur, whose name is reminiscent of the famous Château Lafleur vineyard in Pomerol, offers outstanding cuisine for lunch and dinner. Here you can enjoy high-quality dishes surrounded by greenery. The restaurant seats 50 and the separate lounge is ideal for private dining or for groups of up to 14 people. A selection of regional and international wines is available in the restaurant's own wine cellar.

Restaurant Carmelo Greco in Frankfurt (Main) / Germany

Carmelo Greco, Frankfurt (Main) (Germany) 4

Ristorante Carmelo Greco is somewhat hidden behind tall apartment blocks in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen. The restaurant is anything but the typical ‘Italian restaurant next door’, even if it is run by an Italian. No chequered tablecloths, no antipasti counter, no Insalata con Amore and no Italian evergreens. Instead, various shades of grey dominate the dining room, interspersed with stylish golden accents, and the traditional Italian dishes are presented in an unusual way by Carmelo Greco and served in a relaxed, warm atmosphere. The service team led by restaurant manager and sommelier Enrico Resta serves the creations from the kitchen with typical Italian hospitality.
Restaurant Erno's Bistro in Frankfurt (Main) / Germany

Erno's Bistro, Frankfurt (Main) (Germany) 3

Erno's Bistro may have become a French culinary institution since Ernst Erno Schmidt opened it in 1974, but not much has changed visually. Instead of red chequered tablecloths, there are now blue chequered ones, but the rows of emptied wine bottles with famous labels on the walls and the wood-panelled rooms have remained and have characterised the ambience since the early days. The bistro has 35 seats and a terrace with 25 seats when the weather is fine. The restaurant is located in the quiet Westend district of Frankfurt and is just a 20-minute walk from the city centre. Patron Eric Huber took over the restaurant in 1995 and hired Valéry Mathis, who has been at the helm of the kitchen ever since. Eric Huber recommends the right bottle from the 600-strong wine list to accompany the French-Mediterranean cuisine.
Restaurant Main Tower in Frankfurt (Main) / Germany

Main Tower, Frankfurt (Main) (Germany) 3

Restaurant with a view, the exclusive, modern design and a first-class concept reflect what awaits guests high above the rooftops of Frankfurt: On the 53rd floor, at a height of 187 metres and with a direct view of the city.

Restaurant Bidlabu in Frankfurt (Main) / Germany

Bidlabu, Frankfurt (Main) (Germany) 3

From Japan, Masa Japanese Cuisine preserves the attention to detail, traditional cooking techniques and a sophisticated balance between flavourful aromas and the naturalness of the ingredients. By incorporating selected European preparation techniques and foods, the result is a perfect balance and an unforgettable flavour experience.
Restaurant Lohninger in Frankfurt (Main) / Germany

Lohninger, Frankfurt (Main) (Germany) reference 3

Star chef Mario Lohninger has created the ‘Lohninger’, a restaurant in the style of an Austrian inn in the centre of Frankfurt. The cuisine at Lohninger is classic, but also translated into the 21st century through innovative cooking techniques and sophisticated modifications. In addition to classics such as Wiener Schnitzel and Tafelspitz, the menu also offers Schlutzkrapfen, Kaspressknödel and pancakes. Fish lovers will also be tempted by trout strudel with Parisian mushrooms and Grüner Veltliner or black cod with smoked consommé, beer radish and horseradish.
Restaurant Carte Blanche in Frankfurt (Main) / Germany

Carte Blanche, Frankfurt (Main) (Germany) reference 2

On the 15th floor of the Hotel Meliá Frankfurt City is Frankfurt's new "place-to-be", which is part of the spectacular 140 West Tower. Not only does the adjoining terrace offer a unique view of the famous Frankfurt skyline or the neighbouring Taunus mountains, but the floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the area also guarantee every guest a breathtaking view.
