MUNICH. When the scent of roasted almonds fills the air and the city is gripped by a collective sense of anticipation, it’s time for the exclusive pre-Oktoberfest events. The LOUIS Hotel Munich celebrated the perfect start to the festivities together with BUNTE magazine. On 10 September, around 65 invited creators, media representatives and socialites celebrated on the hotel’s own rooftop, high above the rooftops of the Old Town. It was a fusion of Munich tradition and modern luxury – perfectly staged with dirndls from LIMBERRY and high-end accents from GLAM & GLORY Jewels. By the time the Oktoberfest band Saitensprung struck up a tune, the carefree Oktoberfest atmosphere was already palpable across the city.

Local cuisine with cosmopolitan flair

During the Oktoberfest, the LOUIS at the Viktualienmarkt becomes the ultimate retreat for discerning festival-goers. Thanks to its excellent location in the old town at the Viktualienmarkt, guests can easily shuttle between the festival grounds and this oasis of design. Even at breakfast or the legendary Viktualienmarkt brunch, guests can enjoy Bavarian specialities of the highest standard – the most elegant way to fortify oneself for the festival tent. In the evenings, far from the hustle and bustle of the Wiesn, head chef Marius Pieper showcases his signature style at The LOUIS Rooftop during Oktoberfest, offering surprising new interpretations of Bavarian flavours. Whether it’s tender beef short ribs with celery cream, delicate beef tartare with chive oil or crispy pork belly with apple jelly – the menu celebrates local cuisine with a cosmopolitan flair. Vegetarians can enjoy sautéed mushrooms with a light cheese espuma. The whole experience is crowned by sweeping views over the rooftops of Munich’s Old Town all the way to the Frauenkirche. “The Oktoberfest is as much a part of Munich as almost anything else. We’re drawn to the other side of it. The Wiesn as a way of life that begins in the Old Town and finds its setting here with us – with cuisine and partners who uphold tradition and values whilst still thinking innovatively,” says Paul Gründemann, General Manager of the LOUIS Hotel.

The urban boutique design hotel LOUIS, with 72 rooms and suites, is situated right next to the Viktualienmarkt – in the heart of Munich’s Old Town. Right on the doorstep: market stalls, artisan workshops, museums and the best shopping destinations in this cosmopolitan city with a heart. Discerning travellers will find a stylish hideaway here, whose philosophy centres on timeless design, high-quality materials and relaxed luxury. Culinary offerings are shaped by the hotel’s proximity to the market: guests and locals alike can look forward to seasonal, market-fresh cuisine. The exclusive The LOUIS Rooftop is legendary, offering a picturesque panoramic view over the Old Town rooftops as far as the Frauenkirche. The LOUIS Hotel Munich is ranked amongst the “101 Best Hotels in Germany” and takes third place in the “Luxury City Palais” category. The award is part of one of the most important industry events in Germany.
