Sven Wassmer is closing his restaurants
BAD RAGAZ. The Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, Michelin-starred chef Sven Wassmer and his wife Amanda Wassmer-Bulgin, who works there as Wine Director, are ending their collaboration. The three-star restaurant Memories and the one-star restaurant Verve by Sven will only remain open until February 2027.
Both want to spend more time with their family in future. “Our children have grown up with the restaurants. It has given our family so much. Now it’s our turn. Time to take a breather and grow,” said the couple. However, they will not be stepping away from the hospitality industry entirely: together they run the Wassmer Family Group, through which they provide consultancy services.
With this move, the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz loses its two remaining Michelin-starred restaurants. At the end of the year, following the completion of a refurbishment and some back-and-forth, IGNIV by Andreas Caminada – which was most recently awarded two stars – will return. In addition, the resort will open two new restaurants, as previously reported. Following Wassmer’s departure, the resort plans to open a health-focused restaurant and a fine-dining restaurant under its own management.
