New head chef at the Steigenberger Leipzig

LEIPZIG. A new addition to Leipzig: Christian Müller has now taken up his post as the new head chef at Brasserie Le Grand in the Steigenberger Icon Grandhotel Handelshof. With his appointment, the restaurant is embracing a modern culinary concept that combines classic culinary craftsmanship with contemporary lightness. Müller brings international experience, a connection to the region and a genuine passion for accessible, modern gastronomy to the luxury hotel.

With dishes full of character and artisanal finesse, Christian Müller fits perfectly into the brasserie’s profile. Most recently, the Leipzig-born chef managed various restaurants and a café in his home town. As well as his involvement in professional bodies and the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs to promote young talent, he is known to a wider audience through the regional TV programme ‘Oma’s Küche’.

From 2008 to 2018, Müller gained extensive experience in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate, including at the Hotel Oranien in Wiesbaden and the Espenhof winery, as well as in the events sector, for example with TSG Hoffenheim. At the age of just 24, he took over as head chef at the Burg Crass restaurant in Eltville. He laid the foundations for his career through an apprenticeship in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and international stints in Italy and Spain. Christian Müller is looking forward to his new role: “Each of my roles and travels has opened up new perspectives and provided valuable insights. At Le Grand, I aim to establish a modern brasserie-style cuisine that is, above all, relaxed, contemporary and full of life.”
