Maaemo in Oslo has been named Norway’s best restaurant for the sixth year running. This is according to an analysis of the ratings from the country’s leading travel guides carried out by Restaurant-Ranglisten.de. Esben Bang ’s restaurant had already topped the rankings from 2013 to 2019; in 2020, the restaurant was closed due to a move.

The RE-NAA restaurant in Stavanger has retained second place. The Kontrast restaurant in Oslo remains in third place.

Two restaurants are new to the top 10. Mirabelle by Ørjan Johannessen in Bekkjarvik has gone straight into fourth place. It is therefore also the highest-ranked new entry in the list. Kvitnes Gård in Kvitnes has also entered the list for the first time, taking ninth place. The ‘Rising Star of the Year’ is Frances Vinebar in Oslo, which has climbed from 26th to 23rd place.

This year’s restaurant ranking for Norway comprises 26 restaurants. The ranking takes into account ratings from the Michelin Guide Nordic Countries, the Best Chef Awards, Falstaff and Opinionated about Dining. The weighting of the restaurant guides’ ratings is set out in this table.
