New restaurant manager at BODENDORF'S
TINNUM. For the past two months, Benjamin Paul has been the new restaurant manager at BODENDORF’S at Landhaus Stricker on Sylt. Together with Holger Bodendorf and his team, he is responsible for service at the restaurant, which has held a Michelin star continuously for 24 years.
“BODENDORF’S is an institution on Sylt and has for many years stood for a very special blend of cuisine, service and hospitality. Being part of this team and continuing this tradition alongside Holger Bodendorf is both an exciting challenge and a great responsibility for me,” says Benjamin Paul. As well as personally looking after guests, the wine list also falls within his remit. The selection comprises around 1,500 wines, from which Benjamin Paul, as sommelier, recommends the perfect accompaniments to Holger Bodendorf’s dishes.
Born in Berlin, he began his career in the restaurant trade with an apprenticeship at the gourmet restaurant Endtenfang in the Fürstenhof in Celle. He then gained further experience at various establishments in Hamburg, including working alongside the late leading restaurateur Michael Wollenberg. He is now bringing this experience to bear in his new role on Sylt. Holger Bodendorf is delighted with this new addition to the team: “Benjamin brings a wealth of experience, a calm demeanour and a very good understanding of our guests. At the same time, he has the necessary passion for the restaurant trade and is an excellent fit for our team on a personal level.” At BODENDORF’S, located in the thatched barn of Landhaus Stricker, Holger Bodendorf is renowned for his southern French-Mediterranean cuisine and meticulous craftsmanship. As a result, the restaurant has been consistently awarded a Michelin star for the past 24 years.
