Reorientation

New dining concept at Berlin’s Hotel Luc

‘HERITAGE’ becomes ‘YOU’

Berlin, 7 July 2026 – The Hotel Luc, Autograph Collection, on Berlin’s Gendarmenmarkt is revamping its dining offering: YOU, a new concept combining a restaurant, bar and social hub, is now open. At its heart is an open, versatile space that adapts to different occasions and guests from breakfast right through to the evening.

The name says it all: YOU = you. The atmosphere is personal, direct and deliberately uncomplicated. Instead of formal fine-dining set-ups, YOU embraces an approach that is urban, relaxed and, at the same time, sophisticated. Guests should feel welcome – through the communication, the design and the way the space can be used. Whether it’s a date, a business meeting, a spontaneous get-together with friends or a drink at the bar: YOU is a place that adapts to the occasion. The offering is aimed at both the local community and hotel guests.

The concept works throughout the day. In the morning, YOU starts with breakfast and moves on to a light lunch; in the afternoon, the space becomes a relaxed meeting place, before transforming into a lively after-work atmosphere in the early evening. Later on, YOU evolves into a blend of restaurant, bar and lounge – with modern cuisine, a strong focus on drinks and an atmosphere that can carry on well into the night. Culinary-wise, YOU combines international dishes with classic elements and a playful lightness. The cuisine is high-quality, yet informal.

“With YOU, we are consistently developing our dining offering and creating a venue that is more closely tailored to the needs of an urban clientele. The focus is not on a rigid restaurant concept, but on a versatile experience that can be enjoyed throughout the day,” says Michael Wagner, Chief Operating Officer of the MHP Hotel Group, which operates the Hotel Luc.
Nico Goebel is responsible for the culinary direction and, as the new head chef, is shaping the concept. The experienced chef, who has worked at venues including the Maritim Pro Arte Hotel Berlin, the InterContinental Hotel Berlin and the Kempinski Hotel Airport Munich during his career, brings with him in-depth expertise from the fine dining and banqueting sectors. “With YOU, we are creating a platform for cuisine that impresses with its simplicity, without compromising on quality. My aim is to create dishes that appeal to our guests and perfectly complement the relaxed, urban character of the concept,” says Goebel of his new role.

From the hotel’s perspective, too, this reorientation is an important step in its positioning on the Berlin market: “The Gendarmenmarkt is a vibrant location with an international crowd. With YOU, we are opening up even more to the city and creating a place that appeals to both Berliners and our guests,” explains Christopher Cox, General Manager of the Hotel Luc.

The design and culinary offering will be adapted as part of the reorientation, whilst remaining rooted in the hotel’s design ethos, which is known for its clean, Prussian-inspired aesthetic. The aim is to create a contemporary addition to the existing hotel concept.
