Michelin Guide 2026
A new star in Croatia
The Michelin Guide has rated 112 restaurants in Croatia
(28 June 2026) – The Michelin Guide has published its new edition for Croatia. During their visits across the country, the inspectors noted strong growth in the dining scene: 20 new restaurants have been added to the selection, with the two-star restaurant‘Agli Amici’in Rovinj retaining its status and‘Harry’s Piccolo Porec’joining the ranks as another starred restaurant in Istria – in addition to the twelve existing stars. It has also been a year of exceptional growth, with three new ‘Bib Gourmand’ distinctions and four ‘Special Michelin’ awards for talented professionals.
Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guide, explains: “We are delighted with the results of the new edition of the Michelin Guide Croatia, which this year adds 20 new entries to its prestigious selection. This success is testament to tremendous gastronomic growth across the country – with Istria deserving special mention, having firmly established itself as a first-class destination offering high-quality cuisine. Special congratulations go to ‘Harry’s Piccolo Porec’ on its new star, which further enriches Croatia’s portfolio of starred establishments. The capital, Zagreb, also maintains its position as a key gastronomic hub and continues to offer a diverse, varied and first-class selection. The overall trend is extremely positive and dynamic, painting a picture of a culinary landscape that is constantly and successfully evolving. Alongside innovative concepts, the commendable focus on restaurants that champion simpler, traditional cuisine – whilst prioritising authenticity and local ingredients – also stands out. These successes reinforce Croatia’s international reputation as a preferred destination for global gastronomic tourism.”
‘Agli Amici Rovinj’ retains its two stars – a sign of consistent top quality
For three years now, this exceptional restaurant has maintained an absolutely first-class standard – an achievement impressively confirmed by the re-award of its two Michelin stars. Head chef Emanuele Scarello (who also runs the long-established “Agli Amici” in Udine) and the restaurant’s on-site head chef Simone De Lucca demonstrate exceptional talent in leading and shaping this high-calibre gastronomic project. The already excellent overall experience is further enhanced by the magnificent setting: the breathtaking views make every dinner an unforgettable moment.
A new star shines at ‘Harry’s Piccolo Porec’
Located on the first floor of a modern hotel complex, the restaurant is run by Goran Hrastovčak, an experienced chef from the region. The elegant, modern premises also feature an inviting terrace – ideal for cocktails and aperitifs, served professionally and with passion by a young, extremely friendly team.
The culinary offering includes two tasting menus as well as an à la carte selection, taking guests on a journey that combines sea and land, Italy and Istria, and tradition with modern sophistication. The dishes captivate with their colours, aromas and harmonious flavour combinations – such as the lobster with Béarnaise sauce and Kruškovac liqueur, black truffle and green pepper.
Three new restaurants have been awarded the ‘Bib Gourmand’
Bistro Loora – Đakovo: This small, cosy bistro is situated in a bustling pedestrianised area in the town centre, leading to the impressive Cathedral of St Peter. It features a pleasant outdoor seating area in a shaded courtyard. The modern interior creates a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy creatively reinterpreted local cuisine with a contemporary twist. The chef’s take on ‘Beef Wellington’ – his signature dish – comes particularly highly recommended.
Lulu Fusion Bistro – Osijek: Just a few steps from the historic old town, this small, inviting bistro (with only a few tables; booking recommended) welcomes its guests in a modern setting. It also features a cosy bar where you can enjoy a cocktail whilst waiting for your meal. The cuisine is creative and original; the dishes hint at Asian flavours and are masterfully prepared by the head chef using local ingredients, resulting in well-balanced and harmonious dishes. During the warmer months, there are also a few tables available outdoors.
Nuré – Zagreb: Tucked away in a narrow street in the city centre, this is one of those places that takes you by surprise. A tiny bistro with just four tables, inviting and with a relaxed atmosphere: a little gem that captivates with its cuisine. This reflects the international flair of a Korean family who came to Zagreb after gaining extensive experience in the fine dining scene across Europe and Asia. The dishes – only subtly influenced by the owners’ origins – bear witness to a distinctive and creative style. Favourites include the unmissable hummus with broccoli, Scamorza cheese, fried onions and paprika, as well as the superb rack of lamb with smoked mashed potato, harissa sauce, roasted peppers and ‘Green Goddess’ salsa. At lunchtime, the menu is kept simpler.
Four special awards
The special awards are presented to individuals who stand out for their passion and expertise and who help to create an unforgettable experience for guests.

Every dish on the menu tells a story of local tradition, innovation and absolute precision. A dynamic talent who is constantly evolving.
- Sommelier of the Year Award: Branimir Vukšić – Restaurant Pelegrini (one Michelin star), Šibenik: The friendliness and expertise of sommelier Branimir Vukšić at Restaurant Pelegrini in Šibenik guarantee moments of genuine passion and shared enjoyment. Behind the project is a young management team (head chef Hwan Woong Kim and owner Minyoung Kim), who have extensive experience in the kitchens of some of the most renowned restaurants in Seoul and France.
