Michelin Guide 2026

Four new stars in Poland

Guide, Michelin

First edition featuring restaurant reviews from across the country

The Michelin Guide has rated 196 restaurants across Poland

(30 May 2026) – The Michelin Guide has published its 2026 restaurant ratings for Poland. This year’s guide marks a milestone, as it is the very first nationwide selection for Poland and now covers both cities and rural areas. In total, the Guide recognises 196 restaurants. These include four new one-star establishments – bringing the total number of starred restaurants to 10. Locals and visitors alike looking for affordable yet high-quality dining experiences will also be delighted by the inclusion of 19 additional Bib Gourmand restaurants in the selection.

“I am delighted to present the very first nationwide selection of the Michelin Guide for Poland, which now shines a spotlight on the outstanding work of chefs across all regions of the country. Our inspectors, known for their anonymity, have discovered a diverse range of restaurants – from the big city to the countryside – including wine bars, local bistros and stylish venues for special occasions. The 92 restaurants newly included in this year’s selection testify to the depth and diversity of culinary talent here in Poland. Once again, the inspectors were impressed by the pace at which Polish cuisine is evolving. Younger chefs are driving the country’s gastronomic scene forward with a passion for regional produce and a desire to introduce new creative ideas and international flavours. Poland has always been a country offering excellent value for money – and the 19 new ‘Bib Gourmand’ awards for 2026 impressively confirm this. Finally, it gives me great pleasure to see that four more Polish restaurants have now also achieved Michelin-starred status. Congratulations to them and to all the other establishments featured in this year’s edition of the Guide,” says Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guide.

One star

Perhaps the most exciting news from this year’s announcement is the renewed increase in the number of starred restaurants in Poland: no fewer than four establishments have been honoured with this coveted award for the first time.

The restaurant“Steampunk”in Pszczyna deserves a special mention – it is the first starred restaurant in one of the regions newly included in this year’s Guide. Steampunk offers an unforgettable experience from start to finish; its unique charm begins with its location on the eighth floor of a former water tower and continues inside with striking, steampunk-inspired décor. Yet here, style is by no means at the expense of substance: the inspectors found chef Ziemowit Owczarz’s dishes to be technically flawless and wonderfully balanced.

In Warsaw,‘Alon Omakase’has established itself as Poland’s first Japanese restaurant to be awarded a star. With an authentic and captivating Edomae sushi experience, Chef Alon Than and his team delight guests with their fine craftsmanship and precise knife skills. Equally impressive is their flair for flavours: natural, delicious seafood from all over the world is enhanced by carefully considered seasoning and interesting accents. The inspectors were particularly impressed by the purity of the langoustine nigiri with lime.

Wrocław, which was only included in the Poland Guide last year, has further developed its dining scene and can look forward to two more starred restaurants for 2026. The first of these,“BABA”, has worked its way up from a “Bib Gourmand” in 2025 to a star this year – not least thanks to head chef Beata Śniechowska’s masterful reinterpretations of traditional Polish dishes. In a relaxed, lively atmosphere, she serves subtly complex dishes that elevate their main ingredients to a new level. Her signature creation “Petit Bonbon” – an interpretation of the classic pierogi – was an absolute highlight for the inspectors.

Also in Wrocław,“Most”offers an intimate culinary experience, tucked away inside the“Między Mostami”brasserie. Chef Łukasz Budzik’s tasting menu reveals little at first glance; the descriptions, consisting of just a single word, give little hint of the sheer craftsmanship and creative ingenuity packed into every single bite. His cuisine is built on top-quality ingredients, combined in a manner that is as refined as it is harmonious – with delicious results. The inspectors were particularly impressed by a dish featuring porcini mushrooms, potatoes, Parmesan and truffle.

There are now a total of ten restaurants in Poland with a star – an accolade that all the following establishments have deservedly retained:‘Arco by Paco Pérez’in Gdańsk,‘Giewont’in Kościelisko,‘Muga’in Poznań, as well as‘NUTA’,‘hub.praga’and‘Rozbrat 20’in Warsaw. Bottiglieria 1881 retains its two stars for another year, thereby cementing its position as Poland’s best restaurant. The inspectors were impressed by the sophistication and creativity reflected in the chefs’ flavourful and highly original reinterpretations of classic Polish cuisine – and thus confirmed the restaurant’s two stars for another year.

Bib Gourmand

In addition to the stars, 19 new Bib Gourmands were announced for Poland. Named after Bibendum – the Michelin Man – the Bib Gourmand is a distinction awarded to restaurants offering high-quality cuisine at excellent value for money. This year’s new ‘Bibs’ highlight the remarkable value for money to be found in Poland. Many of the 2026 Bib Gourmands were awarded in regions included in the Guide for the first time this year. In Białystok,“Kwestia Czasu / NAGO” offers an intimate atmosphere and draws inspiration from the forests of the Podlasie region;“Sztuka Chleba i Wina”, meanwhile, is a bakery, wine shop and bar all in one – a place where you’d love to spend the whole day. A similar focus on wine can be found at *KRZYWA Sztuka Wina* in Katowice, which specialises in homemade sausages and meat specialities.

Traditional dishes with a modern twist, always characterised by bold flavours, form a clear theme in Polish cuisine. Those looking for affordable examples of this should head to the newly awarded“Farmer & Sons”in Skórzewo,“The Moment”in Kielce or“Piernicova”in Toruń’s Old Town. For those seeking cuisine that looks beyond Poland’s borders, a trip to Rzeszów is highly recommended: at“Naama”, guests can expect authentic Moroccan dishes that are guaranteed to delight.“Da Andrea”in Olsztyn is entirely dedicated to Italy and uses some of the country’s finest ingredients; finally, *Acanti* in Łódź combines various European culinary styles on a Polish foundation. This year’s expansion of the guide has also brought to light some extraordinary restaurant locations – including“Biblioteka”, housed in a magnificent gatehouse of a castle in Wałbrzych, and *2PiEr*, which sits on the fifth floor of Lublin’s conference centre and offers a fascinating view over the city.

The ranks of Bib Gourmands have also grown within the already established regions: in Warsaw, four further affordable restaurants have been added to the selection.“Blisko Bar”and“WIN wine bar & shop”both fit into the trend of wine-focused bistros where the quality of the food is every bit as good as that of the drinks;“WANDAL”has set itself the task of rewriting the rules of Polish cuisine through creative reinterpretations; and“AHAAN”transports its guests straight to Thailand with fresh, vibrant dishes. In Kraków, there are new “Bib Gourmands” in the form of Nat Bistro – a charming establishment with a passion for natural wines – and Bufet KRK, the younger offshoot of the two-starred Bottiglieria 1881. Wrocław also has a new “Bib Gourmand” to celebrate: Pijalnia, where flavour takes precedence over unnecessary frills in every dish. And finally, Brut Bistro in Gdańsk offers a cosy neighbourhood atmosphere paired with internationally inspired dishes.

With these 19 new awards, the total number of “Bib Gourmands” in Poland now stands at an impressive 38.

Green Star

Through their decisions, choice of produce, respect for seasonality and partnerships with producers, “Green Star” restaurants offer a glimpse into a different way of cooking and approach to the culinary experience. Eliksir in Gdańsk remains Poland’s only restaurant in this category for the final time. From 1 June 2026, the Michelin Guide will no longer award any new Green Stars.

Special awards

This year – in addition to the new stars and Bib Gourmands – four special awards were presented to exceptional individuals and teams who particularly impressed the MICHELIN Guide inspectors over the past year.

  • Opening of the Year Award: WANDAL, Warsaw: Given the lively atmosphere and the guiding principle of ‘vandalising’ traditional Polish cuisine, one might easily assume that WANDAL offers a rather wild and excessive culinary experience. In reality, however, it is a perfectly balanced concept, where the dishes unfold bold yet refined flavours – characterised by a creative touch that nevertheless pays homage to tradition; one example of this is the dumplings with black pudding and crayfish XO sauce. A carefully curated wine list and welcoming, knowledgeable service have helped to make this new opening a thoroughly successful experience.
  • Young Chef Award: Ida Malec from Nat Bistro, Kraków: The year 2026 is a very special one for chef Ida Malec. As head chef at Nat Bistro, she has not only secured a Bib Gourmand for the restaurant’s affordable, high-quality cuisine, but has also received our Young Chef Award – a recognition of her successful leadership of a kitchen at such an early stage in her career. Nat Bistro, an intimate little eatery specialising in natural wines, serves exactly the kind of seasonal, ingredient-driven cuisine that our inspectors value so highly – such as an outstanding risotto with Polish porcini and boletus mushrooms.
  • Service Award: The team at Babinicz, Szczawno-Zdrój: Even amidst the consistently excellent service the inspectors encountered throughout Poland, the team at Babinicz stood out in particular for their natural warmth and charm. Every member of the team carries out their duties with genuine enthusiasm – whether welcoming guests at the door or describing the dishes with a relaxed, confident ease. The restaurant’s ethos – the use of high-quality beef and its ageing on the premises – is explained to every guest with palpable enthusiasm; a striking testament to how deeply all staff members identify with the Babinicz philosophy.
  • Sommelier Award: Dawid Kurlus from Maremma, Poznań: With his gentle, unobtrusive manner, Dawid Kurlus is the sort of sommelier who quickly puts guests at ease. Having devoted himself to the world of wine over the past decade, he is now regarded as a proven expert in the field and curates a wine list here that comprises predominantly French and Italian selections. The owners of Maremma import wines and specialities directly from Italy – and the wine cellar in the restaurant’s entrance area is truly impressive. Given this extensive selection of bottles, Kurlus possesses the necessary expertise and attention to detail to always provide spot-on recommendations that are perfectly matched to your dishes.
