Restaurant review
Ginko, Lille
Thomashaj writes on our forum: “Although Valentina Giacobbe’s dishes use just a few ingredients, they are well thought out, cleverly composed and presented in a very aesthetically pleasing way. Contrary to what one might expect, her Italian heritage or Asian influences are not particularly evident in her cuisine. Instead, it has a distinctly French character, albeit with a modern, uncluttered style. This blends very harmoniously with the minimalist interior. In terms of quality, it is also a noticeable improvement on previous restaurant visits and lives up to what one would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. This is matched by the very friendly and attentive service, which, of course, guides us through the evening in English as well. The same applies to the knowledgeable sommelière, who guided us through the not-too-extensive wine list, which is priced at the higher end, though this is offset by the still very reasonable set menu price. And where else can you get a flat rate for water at €3.50 per table?” (Published in January 2026)
