Forum member El Grande Gourmet says: “I haven’t yet seen the Michelin star that one hopes for here, nor the two red toques that Gault Millau has awarded the restaurant, although there are many extremely promising signs pointing in that direction. If the minor slip-ups I’ve described are ironed out, if the team perhaps takes a few more risks with ingredients and cooking techniques, and if they develop their own distinctive style that goes beyond the mainstream of upmarket German-Japanese fusion, I foresee a bright future for ‘Porte Neuf’, provided the local crowd plays along and doesn’t throw a spanner in the works.” (Published in January 2026)
