Farewell to Gasthaus Jakob, a fresh start with CERVUS

PERASDORF. After ten successful years, restaurateur Michael Ammon and his long-standing team will be leaving the “Gasthaus Jakob” restaurant in July 2026. This marks the start of a new chapter for Ammon – just around two kilometres from his current location.

With great passion and motivation, the former country inn “Zum Hirschenstein” in Rettenbach near Sankt Englmar is currently undergoing extensive renovation and revitalisation. After around ten years of partial closure, a modern dining concept with a new name is taking shape there under the leadership of Michael Ammon, Mona Haka, Andreas Ammon and the entire team: CERVUS.

The conversion and renovation work is currently in full swing. In addition to the restaurant, a separate side room for smaller celebrations and events, a breakfast conservatory, nine guest rooms and the entire garden area are also being extensively modernised. A particular highlight of the project is the completely redesigned kitchen, which is being custom-built to Ammon’s specifications.

With “CERVUS”, the entire team aims to combine tried-and-tested elements with fresh ideas and create a venue that sets new standards in the region, both in terms of cuisine and atmosphere. The well-known concept, high quality and personal hospitality will remain central to the new location. “We want to maintain our usual high standards and be there for our guests every day with passion,” emphasise Michael Ammon, Mona Haka and Andreas Ammon together. The opening is already planned for August 2026.

“We are incredibly excited about this fresh start and looking forward to creating something new together with our guests,” says Michael Ammon.
