Munich Mural closes
MUNICH. The Mural restaurant and the Mural bar are closing. According to the newsletter, the restaurant will remain open until the beginning of July and the bar until the end of July.
“There are many reasons for this and it is pointless to go into detail now; it is simply a difficult time,” explain the operators. Managing director Moritz Mey told the Süddeutsche Zeitung that turnover had fallen sharply. In the case of the restaurant, this was due to low occupancy; in the bar, per-capita spending was too low. A series of events is planned for the remaining period until closure. In addition, everything from the wine cellar is to be offered “at unbeatable prices” to accompany lunch and dinner.
The restaurant was awarded a Michelin star from 2020 to 2024. This was achieved by the head chef duo Johannes Maria Kneip and Joshua Leise. Following Joshua Leise’s departure, the Mural lost its Michelin star.
