Kitchen Impossible: Mälzer vs the Rachingers
In the next episode of Kitchen Impossible this coming Sunday, Tim Mälzer goes head-to-head in the kitchen with Helmut & Philip Rachinger – two top Austrian chefs who are also father and son. Whilst unexpectedly tricky challenges await Tim in Austria and the south of France, the main challenge for ‘the Rachingers’ – alongside traditional cuisine from Thailand and Montenegro – is seeing father and son cook together in the same kitchen.
Set against the backdrop of the idyllic south of France, imperial Austria, the Montenegrin mountain landscape and vibrant Bangkok, a journey full of contrasts unfolds. For Tim Mälzer, as well as for the father-son duo Helmut and Philip Rachinger, “Kitchen Impossible” becomes an emotional and culinary test of limits. Supposedly idyllic settings turn out to be tactical traps, familiar father-son dynamics are put to the test, and every challenge calls certainties into question. It is a duel that pits nature, culture and haute cuisine against one another, demonstrating that sometimes the greatest adversary is not the dish itself, but one’s own expectations.
