Restaurant review
The Table, Hamburg
Forum member MacClaus writes: “The evening at The Table promised so much: the unique proximity to the kitchen, a menu designed to surprise and stir the emotions. What remained was a sense of distance – despite the physical proximity. Every course was technically flawless, precisely composed and presented with three-star technical perfection. I really enjoyed some of the dishes, but the real highlights failed to materialise, and so the overall narrative arc remained somewhat flat. The real stars of the evening? Tweezers and a squeeze bottle. Kevin Fehling put on an impressive display of technical culinary artistry – brilliant, but cold. What was missing was that emotional depth that makes a restaurant visit unforgettable. Perhaps that was precisely the greatest disappointment: behind all the perfection, what was missing was what truly moves you – a story, genuine emotion and, above all, the tangible connection between the kitchen and the guest.” (Published in November 2025)
