Kitchen Impossible
Tim Mälzer vs Alexander Herrmann
COLOGNE. In the third episode of the current series of Kitchen Impossible, Alexander Herrmann and Tim Mälzer face off against each other for the fourth time. The competition kicks off in their respective home towns: Alex must master traditional Franconian cuisine in Coburg, whilst Tim has to deliver top-class cuisine in his ‘own living room’ in Hamburg. Then it’s off to the Mediterranean: Herrmann cooks in Sardinia and Tim in Mallorca, where he meets up with old friends.
Mälzer vs Herrmann – a Kitchen duel with cult status, as the two long-time friends Tim and Alexander have already faced off in Season 1 of Kitchen Impossible and have continued to do so time and again in various combinations. However, all the duels had one thing in common: Alex has never managed to beat Tim. That is set to change now...
The duel begins for both chefs in their respective home towns. Whilst Tim has to attempt a dish of the very highest calibre in Hamburg, in his self-proclaimed ‘living room’ at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, Alex heads to Coburg in Franconia, where he must grapple with traditional cuisine and a special craft. For whom will the supposed home game turn into a slippery slope? There is also a special bet, the outcome of which will be decided by the points awarded.
Afterwards, both head for the Mediterranean: whilst Herrmann finds himself confronted with traditional Sardinian cuisine in Sardinia, Tim makes a trip to Alcudia in Mallorca. This also turns into a journey into his past, as Tim meets old friends and visits an olive farm where he himself once spent several months of his life. Lost in old memories, Tim is suddenly surprised by the black box, which contains a dish he knows all too well – yet recreating it seems almost impossible.
