New leading duo in France

Penitude and Couillon La Marine share first place

The 2026 French rankings are led by a new pair of frontrunners: Restaurant Plenitude in Paris and Couillon La Marine in Noirmoutier-en-Île are jointly in first place. Plenitude had already topped the rankings in 2024 and was in second place last year. Couillon La Marine has improved from ninth place in 2025. Last year’s leader, Régis Marcon in St. Bonnet-le-Froid, now follows in third place. This is the result of an analysis of the ratings from the country’s leading restaurant guides by Restaurant-Ranglisten.de.

Two restaurants have returned to the top 10 after a one-year absence. The Pavillon Ledoyen and Le Pré Catelan in Paris now share fourth place on equal points.

The best new entry on the list is Zostera in Paris, in 221st place. The climber of the year is Auprès du Clocher in Pommard, which has risen from 2,386th place to 509th.

In total, the ranking comprises 3,105 restaurants, for which the ratings from the Michelin Guide, Gault&Millau, Pudlo’s “Coup de cœur”, the rankings on Opinionated about Dining, Falstaff, as well as the LaListe and Best Chef Awards rankings, were analysed.
