Restaurant review
Rutz, Berlin
“It is rare for me to leave a restaurant after a meal so rich in new impressions. Marco Müller and his team have developed a style all of their own which, in my view, stands out as the most distinctive among Germany’s three-star restaurants. The level of delicacy, combined with depth of flavour, is virtually unrivalled – the same applies to the technical precision with which the dishes are prepared. You can tell just how much attention to detail and development work has gone into creating the courses, without the enjoyment factor being neglected, for the dishes are simply delicious on top of all their intellectual depth. If I had to identify a weakness in this menu, it would be the two meat courses, which, for me, have retreated too far into subtlety. Here, the meaty character has been toned down too much. It was an absolute delight to experience this cuisine – especially as it was so well complemented by the wine pairing.” (Published in November 2025)
