Kevin Fehling hands over Puzzle Bar
Hamburg
HAMBURG. Kevin Fehling is selling the Puzzle Bar, which he runs alongside his three-star restaurant The Table in Hamburg's HafenCity. The buyer is Kristian Zrno, who already runs the Sands Bar. "It is with a heavy but grateful heart that I am handing over the Puzzle Bar to new owners after five and a half successful years full of emotion, creativity and courage. We have created an extraordinary concept and projected the creativity from the three-star kitchen into the cocktail glass," Kevin Fehling said in an Instagram post. "Despite the bumpy start during the coronavirus pandemic, I am very proud of what we have built together." The bar, which until a year ago was run by Kevin Fehling's long-time sous chef and head chef Dennis Ilies, has received several awards, such as "New Opening of the Year" in Falstaff, as well as a listing in Rolling Pin's "50 Best Bars Germany" and "Bartender of the Year."
In his post, Kevin Fehling explains his reasoning: he feels strongly "that the time has come to devote my creative focus entirely to my great passion again: creating new ideas and concepts – creativity on the plate as well as the conceptual creation of new, inspiring projects. But I'm not completely gone: I will still be there occasionally in the future and will be involved in one or two projects."
