Michelin Guide 2026

Star rating to remain in Frankfurt in 2027

Frankfurt, Guide, Michelin

In 2026, the awarding of stars will be accompanied by a five-week supporting programme under the motto "Stars over Frankfurt".

FRANKFURT AM MAIN. After 2025, Frankfurt will also host the German Michelin Star Awards in 2026 and 2027. This means that the metropolis on the Main will remain at the centre of the national gourmet world for another two years. To mark the occasion, the city is celebrating its diverse gastronomy with a spectacular five-week programme of events under the motto "Stars over Frankfurt". High-quality events with star chefs, special culinary formats and exclusive glimpses behind the scenes will bring top-class cuisine to life for industry representatives as well as for Frankfurt residents and guests from all over Germany.

Frankfurt, February 2026. On 23 June, all eyes will be on Frankfurt am Main when Germany's one-, two- and three-star awards for 2026 are presented at the Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten. The Bib Gourmand for particularly good value for money and the Michelin Special Awards, including the Sommelier Award, will also be presented.

Frankfurt has an international character. The diversity and energy of the city are also reflected in its gastronomic scene, which is constantly evolving and setting new trends. The Michelin Guide Ceremony underlines Frankfurt's importance as Germany's culinary hotspot.

Stephanie Wüst, City Councillor and Head of the Department of Economics, Law and City Marketing, explains: "The fact that the Michelin Guide Ceremony will also take place in Frankfurt am Main in 2026 is a strong signal for our business location. Frankfurt stands for internationality, quality and dynamism – and this is precisely what is reflected in our gastronomic scene: from award-winning Michelin-starred restaurants to innovative young talents and vegan cuisine to traditional apple wine establishments, the diverse events show how closely top-class cuisine, regional identity and economic value creation are linked. 'Stars over Frankfurt' makes it clear that excellence is no coincidence, but the result of entrepreneurial courage, technical perfection and a strong industry. Our gastronomy and hotel industry are important economic factors, employers and image carriers for Frankfurt far beyond the city limits."

Robert Mangold, President of DEHOGA Hessen, says: "The Michelin Guide Ceremony being held in Frankfurt again is an important signal for our industry. Last year, 'Stars over Frankfurt' impressively demonstrated the high level of interest in high-quality gastronomy in our city. This year, we are setting new standards with even more sophisticated and larger event formats, which we are deliberately making accessible to all Frankfurt residents. The festival creates added value for the catering and hotel industry, increases Frankfurt's supra-regional appeal and shows how efficient and diverse our hospitality industry is."

"Sterne über Frankfurt" – the culinary festival for the whole city

One of the highlights of the series of events from 19 May to 23 June is 2 June at the Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten, where Claus-Peter Lumpp***, Christoph Rüffer*** and Andreas Krolik** will bring a total of eight Michelin stars to the table. In an exclusive menu, they will present eight dishes that bear their respective signatures. Uncompromising product quality is promised on 8 June with a four-hands dinner by Andreas Krolik** and Benjamin Chmura** from the iconic Tantris in Munich.

The focus on 12 June will be on the next generation of chefs. On this evening, the ballroom of the Palmengarten clubhouse will become a stage for trainee chefs, who will be professionally supervised by vocational school teacher David Fischer and head chef Mario Lohninger. Of course, Hesse's national drink will also be featured: on 8 and 16 June, special tastings will invite guests to rediscover the diversity of apple wine in harmony with corresponding dishes.

On 22 June, Lord Mayor Mike Josef will honour the Michelin-starred chefs and representatives of the Michelin Guide in attendance at an official reception in the Kaisersaal at the Römer. In the evening, the programme will continue with a tribute to the treasures of the sea: the Ehrenhof at the Frankfurter Hof will then be transformed into a marketplace of Michelin-starred cuisine. Culinary stations with selected creations from Michelin-starred chefs will be complemented by an exciting panel discussion moderated by AHGZ editor-in-chief Svenja Alberti, featuring three-star chef Tohru Nakamura from Munich, among others.

The highlight of the event series will be the Michelin Guide Ceremony on 23 June at the Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten. Participation is by invitation only. Advance ticket sales for the events will start on 8 March at 10 a.m. Further information and tickets are available at www.sterneueberfrankfurt.de.
