New kitchen management at Rutz
Berlin, Rutz
BERLIN. At the turn of the year, Dennis Quetsch, the long-standing head chef at Rutz, left the Berlin-based three-star restaurant of his own accord. This marked the end of his twelve-year collaboration with executive chef Marco Müller. Dennis Quetsch is moving away from the hustle and bustle of the German capital to a more tranquil rural life in southern Germany. He is being succeeded by a dual leadership team consisting of Luca Mathes (sous chef) and Tim Gronemeier (junior sous chef), both of whom come from within the restaurant's own ranks. Both are in their late 20s and have cooked alongside Dennis Quetsch for a long time. In addition to their experience at Rutz, the two talented chefs completed their training and gained experience in renowned establishments – Tim Gronemeier at Haus Stemberg in Velbert and Luca Mathes at Söl'ring Hof on Sylt.
"His extraordinary creativity and tireless dedication have had a decisive influence on the restaurant and contributed significantly to its success and numerous awards," says the Rutz. "We very much regret Dennis' departure. At the same time, we naturally respect his personal decision to start a new chapter in his life away from Berlin," explain head chef Marco Müller and Rutz owners Anja and Carsten Schmidt. The Rutz team would like to thank Dennis Quetsch warmly for everything and wishes him all the best for the future. At the same time, they are looking forward to working more closely with Luca Mathes and Tim Gronemeier and to the next chapter in the history of Rutz cuisine.
