PARIS (11 February 2026) – Ahead of the publication of the Guide Michelin France & Monaco, which will take place on 16 March in Monaco, Michelin is delighted to announce the 2026 Bib Gourmand selection. With 430 restaurants awarded in France, including 75 new ones, a new milestone has been reached.
This award reflects the commitment and resilience of restaurateurs who place particular emphasis on a balance between quality and price. Outstanding restaurants that showcase all types of cuisine at fair prices. "The journey through France to discover these new restaurants was a real pleasure for our inspection teams. Surpassing the 400 Bib Gourmand restaurant mark is testament to the vibrant gastronomic tradition found throughout France. From villages to cities, passionate chefs preserve the spirit of their regions and offer outstanding cuisine that is accessible to a wide audience," says Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guide.
Regions that shape the French culinary landscape
AUVERGNE-RHÔNE-ALPS: The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region shines with 15 new Bib Gourmand awards, spread across mountains and plains. In Clermont-Ferrand, Il Visconti enchants its guests with Italian-inspired bistro cuisine. The welcoming restaurant Les 9 Névés, run by chef Benoît Chauchaix and his wife Cindy, is nestled in the hills above Beaufort and offers modern cuisine using regional ingredients. Lyon welcomes four new restaurants, some of which continue the tradition of Lyon's bouchon restaurants, such as La Meunière, a classic bouchon serving hearty and rich cuisine. Others, such as Accentué, offer international cuisine, with a menu that explores the flavours of India, Asia and other countries. La Virée, a former bouchon that has been transformed into a modern bistro, serves sharing platters in a welcoming atmosphere.
OCCITANIA can look forward to nine new restaurants that enrich the region's culinary landscape. In Cahors, behind the market stalls, Bonnie, run by Charlotte Bauduret and her husband Rodolphe, serves lively, modern cuisine that reflects the large floral murals painted by the chef – herself an avid fan of applied art – to decorate her restaurant. Further afield in Puy-l'Évêque, high above the River Lot amid the vineyards of Cahors, Les Dodus offers light and fresh seasonal cuisine. Nestled between vineyards and a Gothic collegiate church, Tribu in Roquemaure, run by chef Mathieu Desmarest, presents market specialities.
NOUVELLE AQUITAINE welcomes eleven new Bib Gourmand addresses. In Bar, a small mountain village in Corrèze, the menu at L'Épicurieux skilfully combines simplicity and pleasure. Thomas Ceaux in the kitchen and Pauline Gane in the dining room showcase regional products at affordable prices and with exceptional value for money. Also in Corrèze, in Saint-Robert, Monsieur Robert, a former café that has been transformed into a modern bistro, impresses with the freshness and skilful precision of Dutch chef Tom Houdijk, supported by his partner Sarah van Baardewijk in the service.
On the Charente-Maritime coast, Rafales in Royan, a small, cosy bistro, offers the perfect combination of Philippe Lagarde's expert wine pairing and his wife Laurence's rich cuisine. In Saintes, on the other hand, Le Parvis impresses its guests with its modern cuisine that combines freshness with sweet and sour flavours.
ÎLE-DE-FRANCE: With their new selection, Paris and Île-de-France prove the enduring vitality of their culinary scene. Twelve new restaurants offer excellent value for money without compromising on quality. The testing team was particularly impressed by Farouche in Montrouge, which serves modern cuisine from two young chefs, Cécile Farnier and Hélia Maouch. The seasonal menu at Tata Yoyo in La Garenne-Colombes and the celebrated reopening of Cabane in Nanterre, known for its rich cuisine, round off the selection. Paris offers a wide variety of culinary styles to suit every taste. Épopée serves fresh, seasonal cuisine with refined sauces and spices. At Lissit, chef Claire Grumellon reinterprets traditional butchery and charcuterie. Kodawari Ramen – Yokochō offers ramen made from the highest quality ingredients. Jip presents refined French-Korean cuisine in an intimate atmosphere.
New meeting places in the heart of small towns
A new generation of restaurateurs is shaping France's culinary landscape. From the Côte-d'Or to Haute-Savoie, chefs are focusing on short supply chains, working directly with producers and breathing new life into former inns and coaching inns. These establishments are no longer just restaurants: they are evolving into places of social interaction where people make friends over a shared meal.
In Jarnac-Champagne, Jérémie Deberque's takeover of Coude à Coude has breathed new life into the restaurant. In the village square of the wine-growing village of Santenay, L'Ouillette, a family-owned inn since 1979, was taken over a few years ago by Simon Oudin, the son. He combines traditional Burgundian recipes with modern creations.
Nestled in the rural landscape of the Vendée, Maison Brume, formerly La Chaize Gourmande, is starting a new chapter with chef Tanguy Rattier. His modern cuisine celebrates regional products. Le Café de la Poste in Nâves-Parmelan embodies the spirit of the mountains: a former post office, bread depot and bistro, it captivates with its inviting atmosphere, where wood and antique objects are reminiscent of auberges of yesteryear. In the charming Breton village of Quédillac, a young couple has revived Le Relais de la Rance, serving traditional dishes and an inexpensive lunch menu.
Introduced in 1997, the Bib Gourmand recognises restaurants in the Michelin Guide that offer excellent value for money. These restaurants invite you to enjoy yourself and reflect the full diversity of French cuisine without compromising on affordability: the average price for a full menu (excluding drinks) is £35 in rural areas and £40 in Paris.
