Top pastry chef leaves the hotel industry

HAMBURG. The head pâtissier of Hamburg's luxury hotel Marco d'Andrea is leaving the establishment. As he announced in a social media post, he will be taking on a new role in Hamburg outside the hotel industry. Marco d'Andrea had been responsible for the sweet dishes since the hotel opened. It had been an indescribable time for him, Marco d'Andrea writes. "I didn't just work here. I learned, developed and grew – both professionally and personally. I mentored many young talents, motivating and developing them on a daily basis. And they did the same for me. The Fontenay was more than just a workplace for me. It was like a second family, which I will certainly miss."
