STUTTGART. At the invitation of ahgz – Allgemeine Hotel- und Gastronomie-Zeitung (dfv Mediengruppe), 275 Michelin-starred chefs hosted the Night of Stars at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.

This traditional industry event during Intergastra has been held in Stuttgart since 2012 and is organised jointly by ahgz and the Burghotel Staufeneck. Guests included three-star chefs such as Sven Elverfeld, Kevin Fehling, Claus-Peter Lumpp, Tohru Nakamura and Clemens Rambichler, as well as TV and top chefs such as The Duc Ngo, Tristan Brandt, Simon Tress, Thomas Bühner, Stefan Marquard, Ludwig Maurer, Felicitas Then and Ralf Zacherl. The more than 1,000 participants included numerous prominent guests from the worlds of gastronomy, hospitality, business, politics and culture. The Burg Staufeneck team, led by top chef Rolf Straubinger, provided the culinary delights for the event.

A restaurant ranking was also published as part of the event. It is based on an evaluation of the ratings from Guide Michelin 2025, Gault&Millau 2025, Gusto 2026, DER FEINSCHMECKER, Die 500 besten Restaurants in Deutschland 2025 and the Falstaff Restaurant & Gasthaus Guide Deutschland 2026. Corresponding restaurant guides were used for Austria and Switzerland. To determine the weighting, a country-specific survey of a total of 200 top restaurateurs was conducted to assess the influence of the most important restaurant guides on top-class gastronomy. Clear and country-specific differences emerged, which were taken into account in the ranking. This means that the restaurateurs themselves determined how strongly each individual restaurant guide influences the overall ranking.

In Germany, Jan in Munich, run by Jan Hartwig, and Schwarzwaldstube at the Hotel Traube Tonbach in Baiersbronn, with head chef Torsten Michel, lead the ranking. After the top two, the following top restaurants rank third to tenth in the ranking (in two cases, two restaurants share a place):

3. Victor's Fine Dining by Christian Bau, Perl
3. Waldhotel Sonnora, Clemens Rambichler, Dreis
5. Aqua at The Ritz-Carlton Wolfsburg, Sven Elverfeld
5. Rutz Restaurant, Marco Müller, Berlin
7. schanz.restaurant., Thomas Schanz, Piesport
8. The Table – Kevin Fehling, Hamburg
9. Bareiss – Hotel Bareis, Claus-Peter Lumpp, Baiersbronn
10. Haerlin – Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, Christoph Rüffer, Hamburg

This year, a special prize was once again awarded to Rolf Straubinger and Klaus Schurr, who founded and developed the format together with ahgz. The evening was hosted by Ann-Kathrin Geyr-Schurr (Burghotel Staufeneck) and Thomas Meyer (Head of Hotel and Gastronomy Media, dfv Mediengruppe).
