Breakfast 3000 launches Bistro 3000
Berlin
BERLIN. Like few other industries, the restaurant business is subject to constant change – especially in a dynamic metropolis like Berlin. Trends come and go, concepts that were once in tune with the zeitgeist are quickly replaced by new ideas, and global crises have an increasing impact on tourism and the needs of guests. What's more, every neighbourhood is different: architecture, gastronomy, living space and demographics vary – so it's clear that the guest structure of the two Frühstück 3000 restaurants in Schöneberg and Kreuzberg also differs accordingly. While the majority of regulars in Schöneberg indulge in upscale breakfasts even on weekdays, the Kreuzberg branch's guests, who are often tourists, have been expressing an additional need for some time now: there is increasing demand for smaller dishes, a quick, tasty snack before visiting a museum or a hearty sandwich at lunchtime.
In conjunction with the founders' personal desire to consciously create space for something new after five years of Frühstück 3000, this observation led Martin Pöller and Lukas Mann to fundamentally redevelop the concept at the Kreuzberg location: Under the name Bistro 3000, the city's well-known Frühstück 3000 classics will be complemented by a varied range of modern bistro-style dishes from the end of January 2026.
The restaurant's characteristic DNA will of course remain intact, and selected classics will remain a permanent fixture on the menu. Dishes such as Chicken 3000 – a cheddar waffle with crispy fried chicken and bacon caramel sauce – or the popular Eggs Benedict with salmon and caviar will continue to be available at both locations. In Kreuzberg, however, they are now complemented by a range of hearty new creations in bistro style: in addition to a grilled cheese sandwich, the new menu features a Kasseler sandwich with smoked and cured pork, a vegan "mushroom sando", a crisp and fresh Caesar salad and a selection of soups. Sweet dishes such as crème brûlée French toast or bread pudding with milkmaid caramel are likely to be familiar to loyal Frühstück 3000 visitors – and they won't have to miss out on them even after the concept change in Kreuzberg. In addition, the menu now also includes pancakes with vanilla cream, black sesame and passion fruit-banana syrup.
During the week (Monday to Friday), Bistro 3000 in Kreuzberg also offers a more compact selection for breakfast or lunch. In the "Small Bites" category, guests will find sweet and savoury snacks such as a ham and cheese baguette, a "French Breakfast" with croissant, vanilla cream and jam, or half portions of the generously filled sandwiches. Side dishes such as "French Fries Patatas Bravas" with aioli and salsa brava or ham croquettes can be ordered as desired. Creative coffee specialities such as pecan, black sesame plum or saffron chai latte also add new accents to the drinks menu. The new bistro concept is rounded off by changing combo offers of selected dishes and drinks, which give new guests in particular an uncomplicated introduction to the world of flavours at Frühstück 3000.
Head chef Lukas Mann and co-founder Martin Pöller, who is responsible for the entire service area, are looking forward to the concept change with anticipation: "Standing still in this industry is tantamount to suicide: at our Kreuzberg location, we are rethinking our approach, adapting to the market and giving our creativity free rein again. We look forward to welcoming guests with smaller budgets in the future thanks to the concept expansion."

The Caper, Vulcano
"Similar to the previous evening, the dishes are very purist and minimalist or product-oriented, which makes sense given that mainly local products are used."
