Althoff launches extensive investment in the future of the hotel

ROTTACH-EGERN. The Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt is investing in a comprehensive renovation of central hotel areas in order to further consolidate its position as a leading luxury holiday hotel on Lake Tegernsee and within the German luxury hotel industry. The focus is on the complete redesign of the pool and sauna area as part of the 4 elements spa by Althoff, the modernisation of the meeting rooms and a facelift for the lobby bar. From 27 February, the five-star resort will once again welcome its guests in its usual luxurious ambience.

Extensive work is being carried out in the current construction phase. The entire beauty and spa area is being completely renovated and redesigned. This includes the stylish indoor pool, exclusive saunas and elegant relaxation areas. In future, the spa shop and spa reception will be centrally located on the ground floor, ensuring an even more luxurious guest experience. The former hairdressing salon and spa shop areas will be converted into a new, modern and lovingly designed children's area – a clear commitment to the family-friendliness of the hotel.

In addition, the construction phase includes the renovation of the conference rooms, the lobby bar and the second master suite, the Presidential Suite, which will feature a contemporary, elegant design in future. These visible innovations will be complemented by important technical modernisations, including the renewal of the lift systems and the emergency lighting.

Long-term plans

"Once the work is complete, I look forward to offering our guests an even more enjoyable stay," says Vincent Ludwig, General Manager of the Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt, adding: "Optimised service processes thanks to the new spa reception, modernised event rooms and additional luxurious retreats will ensure an even more harmonious overall experience. At the same time, we are implementing the measures together with experienced partners – mainly companies from the region, some of which we have been working with for many years."
Frank Marrenbach, CEO of Althoff Hotels, adds: "The decision to close and carry out extensive modernisation was made well in advance, with the specific timeframe deliberately set early on. The beginning of the year is the quietest period in terms of demand at Lake Tegernsee and therefore the most sensible time for a project of this magnitude. At the same time, it was important to us to keep all employees on the team during the renovation phase – whether through holidays, the reduction of time credits, targeted preparations for the reopening or temporary assignments in other Althoff Collection hotels. This ensures that we return with a well-coordinated and well-prepared team."

The first arrivals will be possible from 27 February. By this time, the lobby bar, event rooms and second presidential suite will already be available again. From 13 March, the ALL SUITE SPA will open for holistic treatments. The indoor pool, saunas and relaxation rooms will follow this summer, completing the new spa experience.
