Former head sommelier at Hamburg's The Fontenay takes on new position in wine trade

HAMBURG. Sommelier Stefanie Hehn has taken on a new professional challenge. She will be working as purchasing manager for the Hamburg-based wine retailer Tesdorpf.

Stefanie Hehn is one of Germany's most distinguished sommeliers. After training as a hotel manager in Bad Kissingen, she went on to work at renowned establishments such as Burg Schwarzenstein, the Hotel Louis C. Jacob in Hamburg and the Überfahrt restaurant on Lake Tegernsee. Since 2017, she has been head sommelier at the luxury hotel The Fontenay in Hamburg, where she was responsible for the wine selection at the two-star restaurant Lakeside, among others. In 2020, she became the second woman in Germany to earn the internationally coveted title of "Master Sommelier". In recent years, she has received numerous awards, including "Sommelière of the Year" and "Wine Personality of the Year". She is also the director of the Sommelier College of the Sommelier Union.
