Michelin Guide Austria to be published in March
Austria, Guide, Michelin
PARIS. On 18 March 2026, the Guide MICHELIN Austria will publish its restaurant selection for 2026. 2026 will also see the Guide Michelin Austria present the Special Awards, including the Service Award, the Young Chef Award and the Sommelier Award. The new selection also takes into account the special features of the region, such as the fact that restaurants in some regions are only open in winter.
"In recent years, Austria has positioned itself as an attractive destination worldwide, with an increasingly broad culinary offering and a hospitality that can be felt throughout the country," says Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guide. Austrian gastronomy stands for regionality and high-quality products, which are often sourced from local farmers or grown by the restaurant owners themselves. At the same time, the chefs skilfully combine tradition and innovation with international influences. Last year, the Michelin Guide returned to the Alpine republic with its national restaurant selection. 82 restaurants were awarded the coveted stars in 2025 - two of them in the highest category with three stars, 18 with two stars and 62 restaurants with one star.
