Guide Michelin
Three US three-stars are devalued
USA, Guide, Michelin
Five days before the publication of the Michelin Guide Northeast, it is clear that three well-known three-star restaurants in the north-east of the country will lose their third star. The best known of these is Alinea in Chicago. "We were disappointed to learn of our downgrade to two stars. For 20 years, Alinea has been dedicated to creativity, rigour and the pursuit of perfection in our craft. That commitment remains as steadfast today as it was on day one," reads a post from owner Grant Achatz. The restaurant had been awarded the highest rating since 2011. It celebrated its 20th anniversary this year with pop-ups in various locations around the world.
In a statement, the Michelin Guide confirmed the news, adding that the Inn at Little Washington in Washington and New York restaurant Masa will also be downgraded. "Ahead of this year's star awards for Northeastern cities, the Michelin Guide has announced that Alinea, Inn at Little Washington and Masa will be awarded two Michelin stars in the 2025 selection. The chefs and teams of these restaurants were informed in advance of the award ceremony."

The Caper, Vulcano
"Similar to the previous evening, the dishes are very purist and minimalist or product-oriented, which makes sense given that mainly local products are used."
