Protective shield proceedings successfully concluded

SAARBRÜCKEN. GästeHaus Klaus Erfort has successfully survived the insolvency proceedings. A new chapter is now beginning for the two-star restaurant, according to the law firm Blank + Partner Rechtsanwälte. The protective shield proceedings have been concluded, the Saarbrücken Local Court has confirmed the insolvency plan with legally binding effect and the proceedings will be cancelled by the court shortly once the plan has been fulfilled. The company is entering the new year with a stable economic basis, a well-organised team and clear prospects. "I am proud of what we have achieved together," says Erfort. "It was a challenging time in which my life's work was at stake, and that is precisely why this conclusion is so special. We have shown that you can keep your composure even in difficult phases and emerge stronger."

An orderly new start

With the decision in favour of self-administration, Erfort took the initiative in spring to restructure his GästeHaus and secure it for the long term. The restaurant remained open throughout the entire process: a visible sign of trust that has paid off. Erfort was supported by an experienced team of experts led by lawyer Dennis B. Blank (BLANK + Partner Rechtsanwälte mbB, Saarbrücken) and Mana Mojadadr, a business and finance expert with an international reputation. The Saarbrücken Local Court has appointed lawyer Lukas Eisenhuth (Abel & Kollegen, St. Ingbert) as trustee. Together, they oversaw the operational and strategic reorganisation of the GästeHaus, kept the business stable throughout the proceedings and laid the foundations for a sustainable restructuring. The result is a solid economic basis, streamlined structures and a stronger foundation for the coming years.

Eisenhuth also emphasises: "Self-administration proceedings can only be successful if they are implemented with a clear strategy and professional precision. Mr Erfort and his team of specialists have managed this process with great discipline. This sense of responsibility contributed significantly to the success of the reorganisation. The GästeHaus is now in a solid position and can look to the future with confidence." "It was never just about organising balance sheet figures," explains Erfort. "It was about preserving the centrepiece of our hotel - the interplay of people, quality and attitude - while at the same time realigning it." Blank emphasises: "Klaus Erfort has proven that entrepreneurial responsibility and creative passion are not mutually exclusive. This process was designed for stability, transparency and sustainability from the outset and has been implemented in exactly the same way." Mojadadr adds: "Erfort has shown attitude in a challenging time. He not only reorganised his hotel, but also built trust in the process - among employees, partners and guests."

Team spirit, consistency and trust

The past few months have shown how strongly the team stands behind the GästeHaus. All employees have been retained, partner businesses have remained connected and guests have continued to come in large numbers. This stability now forms the basis for what is to come. "I have learnt a lot about trust during this time: in others and in myself," says Erfort. "This support has sustained us. Now is the time to say thank you: to my team, our guests and our partners. Without them, this step would not have been possible."

With the acceptance of the submitted insolvency plan and confirmation by the local court, the GästeHaus is restructured and ready for growth. For Erfort, this means a fresh start: full of new ideas, creative energy and a clear vision for the future. He wants to create more space for innovation, further development and meaningful encounters. "This is a great signal at the end of the year," says the Michelin-starred chef. "For us at the GästeHaus, but also for everyone who comes together in the winter months to eat well, have conversations and enjoy life. That's what it's all about: the joy of being together."
