Restaurant review
Einstein Gourmet, St. Gallen
Switzerland, St. Gallen, Forum
"The evening shows once again that a very, very good menu, first-class wine pairing and outstanding service add up to more than the sum of their parts. I felt very, very comfortable all round. Relaxation begins with the welcome. Sebastian Zier and Richard Schmidtkronz's menu starts at a very high level and then stabilises at a good two-star level. The dishes range from structured and multi-layered dishes to dishes that simply allow for relaxed enjoyment. But all of them have an appealing complexity and depth, but also accessibility, which should appeal to many gourmets. I like the complex dishes at the start of the menu as well as the slurpy pike-perch course. The sardine, which in my opinion tried to serve both, lacked this decisiveness, which makes it a little less appealing to me. I would also like to mention the performance of the patisserie; both desserts once again emphasised the overall successful performance. I therefore see Einstein Gourmet as a restaurant for guests who are primarily looking for an overall experience and want to let themselves go a little." (Published in September 2025)

"The blend of local produce and cosmopolitan flavours is spot on. The dishes are very well-defined."
