Cornelia Fischer opens her kitchen
Event category is: Bayern
Event takes place at: Rottach-Egern
ROTTACH-EGERN/Cologne. The Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt is adding a special experience to its culinary programme: star chef Cornelia Fischer and her team are opening the doors of their kitchen in the Überfahrt restaurant and inviting guests to exclusive evenings at the chef's table. Guests take their seats at a communal table in the centre of the action and experience a carefully composed four-course menu with seasonal products, creative finesse and the chef's unmistakable signature. The Chef's Table takes place with a minimum of four people and is limited to a maximum of ten participants. It is regularly offered every first Thursday evening of the month and can also be booked exclusively on request with a 24-hour advance reservation.
An evening right at the centre of the action
The Chef's Table takes guests right into the world of Michelin-starred cuisine: right at the interface between kitchen and service, where every detail comes together. Here, participants sit in close proximity to the kitchen team and can observe how the dishes are created, how the chefs work hand in hand and how individual ingredients are turned into precise compositions. In this way, top gastronomy can be experienced up close - a look behind the scenes that is normally reserved for the professionals in the kitchen.
Award-winning and reorganised
The new series builds on the restaurant's current success: In June 2025, Restaurant Überfahrt was awarded a star in the MICHELIN Guide under the management of Cornelia Fischer - a confirmation of its clear, product-focused cuisine that combines local ties with global impulses. Since reopening in September 2024, she and her team have established a fresh, independent culinary approach at Lake Tegernsee that has met with an enthusiastic response from guests and critics alike. With the Chef's Table, the restaurant continues this line consistently and offers guests the opportunity to enjoy the dishes in a special setting.
Culinary philosophy: regionally rooted, cosmopolitan compositions
"Our cuisine is clear, product-focused and combines regional roots with cosmopolitan flavours," says Cornelia Fischer. "We want to show how versatile individual ingredients can be - whether vegetables, herbs or grains. Different textures and cooking methods are used to create light, precise compositions." Reduction instead of staging, fine acidity, concise flavour and a pronounced sensory awareness characterise her signature. Seasonal harvests and home-grown produce are incorporated into the menus, as is the close collaboration with producers around Lake Tegernsee. Vincent Ludwig, General Manager at the Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt, adds: "With the Chef's Table, we are opening up the kitchen for a special experience. Guests can experience Cornelia Fischer's style at first hand - accompanied by trenchant wine arrangements or non-alcoholic pairings that perfectly showcase the flavours."
