Lunch in Cologne, pop-up in Cyprus
COLOGNE: After a short creative summer break, the bustling star chef already has a variety of plans again. For her restaurant Sahila with the Yu*lia Mezzebar in Cologne, she is offering a new lunch special every Thursday from September. In three courses, Sahila offers specialities from all over the world, authentic and always with a special Julia twist and at an attractive price for three courses: 99 euros. The Yu*lia Mezzebar will also be open for lunch from September and guests can order all dishes flexibly from 35 euros. But before Julia Komp takes off in Cologne, she lands in Limassol on Cyprus with a Sahila pop-up in the new ARARAT luxury residence. She will be the first guest chef at Reto Mathis' new Cloud9 from September.
High above the harbour of Limassol, Cloud9 is the new fine dining highlight for gourmets in the eastern Mediterranean. With two chefs from the Sahila team and entremetier Yen, Julia Komp is preparing everything for the opening menu on 29 and 30 August. She is inspired by freshly caught seafood, a vibrant mezze culture and excellent wines, for which the sunny south coast of Cyprus is famous. "I'm looking forward to welcoming regular guests from Germany and inspiring new international gourmets. Unfortunately, I won't be able to enjoy the sea view all the time and will be travelling back to Cologne in between, but Yen and the Cloud9 kitchen team will cover for me during this time," reports Julia Komp. The new Cloud9 is not a normal restaurant, but part of a culinary project. Various menus from star chefs will be presented here one after the other, each for two months, each unique. "And I get to kick things off!" says a delighted Julia Komp. After the launch at the end of August, she will be back from 21 to 23 September and 12 to 15 October.

The new luxury residence ARARAT - The Signature Collection rises 24 storeys high above the harbour of Limassol. It combines worlds of experience, from special food spots to a five-storey wellness area with three spa floors and a gym, tennis court and outdoor pool. At the centre of this ambitious project is a collection of ten different culinary concepts, all of which lead to Cloud9 on the ninth floor.
Business lunch and four-day week
Back in Cologne, Julia Komp is extending the opening hours of her restaurant Sahila to four days with the Yu*lia Mezzebar. "We carefully weighed up the decision with my partner Yunus Özananar and are sure it fits in perfectly with the times. Our team appreciates the work-life balance and this way we can ensure that we can always retain the best talent for our guests," explains Julia Komp. She sweetens this decision for her guests with a new lunch offer every Thursday. In two or three courses, there is a little culinary world tour in the middle of everyday life. Authentic dishes from all over the world are served in typical style and delight with outstanding quality and a typical Julia Komp twist, hand-picked, full of flavour and inspiration. A perfect match for the world traveller in fine dining.
