Restaurant review
Kadeau, Copenhagen
Denmark, Kopenhagen, Forum
"Compared to many other top Copenhagen restaurants, the cuisine at Kadeau is more 'down to earth' and less polished - without lacking in subtlety and finesse. There is no lack of rustic elements here. These are the ones I particularly enjoy - perhaps also because it contrasts somewhat with some of the other top restaurants in Copenhagen. The main products are brought to the plate with their own unadulterated flavour. The flavour of fruit and flowers plays a special role here. This can be clearly tasted. This perhaps captures the flavour of Bornholm and gives rise to some somewhat exotic or unusual combinations. The balance of flavours is right throughout. They don't seem forced, but nevertheless rest in themselves. The service also made a confident and relaxed impression. That's what you want as a foodie - everything here seems a little more Scandinavian and "local" than in the three-star restaurants or the Alchemist with its global clientele, although many non-Nordic guests certainly dine here too. I feel a little reminded of the Oaxen Krog, both by the style of the cuisine and the beautiful interior design with lots of wood, so perhaps the Kadeau is more comparable than the other restaurants in Copenhagen."
