New opening
Rive Gauche starts in Baden-Baden
Baden-Württemberg
BADEN-BADEN The Rive Gauche restaurant reopened in mid-July. The new operators, Eduard Knecht and Felix Daferner, have previous experience in Michelin-starred gastronomy.
The restaurant is located in the centre of the world-famous spa town of Baden-Baden, directly on Lichtentaler Allee. The Rive Gauche sees itself as a place where classic elegance, modern craftsmanship and a clear culinary approach come together. In the historic LA8 building, surrounded by culture, art and nature, Eduard Knecht and Felix Daferner have developed a gastronomic concept that deliberately sets itself apart from the ordinary - stylish but unpretentious, ambitious but accessible.
At the centre is a product-focused cuisine with French roots and a contemporary approach. We cook seasonally, with respect for the product, the craft and the people who make both possible. Our dishes reflect our attitude: clarity on the plate, depth of flavour and a touch of originality where it makes sense.
At lunchtime, Rive Gauche offers a purified menu with a reduced menu structure and complementary classics. Ideal for an enjoyable but accessible lunch break. In the evening, the restaurant serves à la carte, with a particular emphasis on flexible menu design and customised combinations. At the end of the year, an exclusive gourmet menu is to be added to the menu - for guests looking for a culinary experience at the highest level.
Eduard Knecht stands for a cuisine that creates emotion - not through gimmickry, but through precision, authenticity and a deep understanding of what makes good cuisine today. Together with Felix Daferner, a qualified sommelier and passionate host with a keen sense of atmosphere, wine and service culture, he forms the heart of the Rive Gauche. We believe that true hospitality is not staged, but lived - every day, with every single guest.
The Rive Gauche is more than a restaurant, it is a place of encounter. A place for people who value honest cuisine, genuine quality and a special atmosphere. We work closely with regional producers, winegrowers and artisans and see sustainability not as a trend, but as a natural responsibility.
"We are not loud players, but we are convinced of what we do and want people to discover us. That's why we welcome your attention, your critical eyes and your dialogue," says the operators in their self-presentation.
