New members in Italy, Scotland, France, India, Japan, French Polynesia, Argentina and Brazil

PARIS. The Relais&Châteaux association has welcomed nine new members. Although each of these new members has its own distinctive personality, they all share the values and vision of Relais & Châteaux hospitality. They are committed to the art of living, fine cuisine and cultural diversity: in Europe (Italy, Scotland and France), Asia and the Pacific (India, Japan, French Polynesia) and South America (Argentina, Brazil).

"Our association is committed to sustainable development by contributing, through gastronomy and hospitality, to a more respectful and supportive world in harmony with all life on earth. I am honoured to welcome these eleven new members to Relais & Châteaux, who share not only our values but also our passion for the good and the beautiful," explains Laurent Gardinier, President of Relais & Châteaux

Relais & Châteaux Borgo Pignano Florence, Florence, Italy: The location alone is a dream: the Montughi hill north of Florence is considered one of the most peaceful places in the Tuscan capital. The Relais & Châteaux Borgo Pignano Florence - a future hideaway of timeless elegance - is being built in the middle of this tranquil retreat. Despite its proximity to the historic centre of Florence, Borgo Pignano Florence is an oasis of peace and tranquillity. The property, which is scheduled to open in 2026, has been lovingly restored and transformed from a private residence into an exclusive hotel. The historic villa is set in 12 hectares of lushly planted grounds with mature trees and a spectacular 30-metre-long swimming pool. The rooms are located in the main villa and in four buildings surrounded by dense vegetation. In the main building, the carved colonnades, vaulted ceilings and impressive monumental stone staircase have been preserved. The 32 guest rooms and suites feature high coffered ceilings and large picture windows overlooking the property's gardens and heated pool. For a particularly private stay, Villa la Sosta is available - an elegant hideaway with five bedrooms, its own garden and pool, ideal for families or groups of friends. Guests are spoilt with culinary delights in two restaurants: Essenza, a gourmet restaurant under the direction of chef Stefano Cavallini, and Cedrus, a seasonal summer restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere in the well-tended garden.

Relais & Châteaux Susana Balbo Winemaker's House & Spa Suites, Mendoza, Argentina: The excellent reputation of Argentinian wines is well deserved - not least thanks to the Mendoza region. Here, the desert climate at the foot of the Andes provides ideal conditions for wines of exceptional quality. However, this success can also be attributed to a pioneer: Susana Balbo, Argentina's first female winemaker. For more than 25 years, she has been producing wines in her bodega in Agrelo, a renowned wine-growing region just 25 minutes from Chacras de Coria. In this small village just outside Mendoza, she has opened the Relais & Châteaux Susana Balbo Winemaker's House & Spa Suites together with her daughter Ana. Behind the white walls of this historic house, you will find seven suites nestled in extensive gardens designed with natural materials such as stone and wood and opening onto a private garden where guests are invited to relax with a bathtub, sensory shower, sauna and massage table. The interiors are adorned with an extensive art collection, including photographs of Argentinian landscapes and works by local artists. In addition to relaxing spa treatments, the Winemaker's House invites guests to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of wine - with an introduction to winemaking and guided tastings. Culinary delights are served in the La Vida restaurant, where chef Flavia Amad reinterprets traditional recipes from the region - always in harmony with the hotel's wines.

"We are deeply touched to be recognised as part of the Relais & Châteaux family. It honours a journey of passion, resilience and a dream rooted in Mendoza. Being welcomed into a community that values authenticity and excellence inspires us to continue creating soulful experiences - connected to our land and open to the world," explains Ana Lovaglio Balbo, General Manager

Relais & Châteaux Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni, Bellagio, Italy: At the tip of a peninsula jutting out into the blue waters of Lake Como, the Relais & Châteaux Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni is situated in what is probably the most beautiful location in the village of Bellagio. Just a few steps away from the picturesque streets and gently rocking fishing boats, the residence, surrounded by a huge tropical garden, is a true oasis of peace. Built in 1854, the villa epitomises the elegance of those aristocratic estates that have lined the banks of the Lario for centuries. Owned by the Bucher family for four generations, the house proudly upholds the traditions of the Grand Tour and 19th century European hospitality. With its magnificent interior - a stylish blend of Empire, Neoclassicism and Art Nouveau - the villa impresses with its high colonnades, ornate ceilings, gilded details and fine marble. This classic elegance is continued in the individually designed rooms and suites, each of which has its own unique flair. A stay at this prestigious location is also a culinary highlight: in the Mistral restaurant and on the Goletta terrace, chef Ettore Bocchia creates a menu full of Mediterranean flavours. Those looking for complete relaxation will find it on the private beach, at the new beach club and in the extensive spa, including an elegant swimming pool. "Membership of Relais & Châteaux is a great honour that is very close to our philosophy. This recognition recognises our commitment to refined hospitality, culinary excellence and a sense of place. We are proud to stand alongside other properties that epitomise such timeless values and we look forward to shining in the constellation of exceptional destinations that make up Relais & Châteaux. It is a privilege to contribute to this global network of excellence, where each property is a unique expression of culture, tradition and hospitality at the highest level," says Jan Bucher, Managing Director

Relais & Châteaux The Sarvato, Jaipur, India: For almost three centuries, the magnificent city palace has dominated the centre of Jaipur, the legendary "Pink City" and capital of Rajasthan. Even today, the sprawling complex serves as the residence of the royal family of Jaipur, including Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh. The Sarvato, a Relais & Châteaux restaurant with an exceptional location and atmosphere, is located in the centre of this historic ensemble. It is located in the Sarvatobhadra area, the former audience hall for private receptions, and offers a breathtaking view over the rooftops of Jaipur from its spacious terrace. Open from September to April, the open-air restaurant emphasises the abundance of local ingredients and traditional cooking methods in an ambience worthy of the golden age of the maharajas. Chef Sonu Kumar Singh presents a cuisine that honours the tradition and authenticity of ancient cooking methods and reinterprets them in an innovative way. He cooks slowly over the open sigri grill, marinates according to old recipes and still bakes the bread by hand. His six-course tasting menu is a delightful journey through the culinary landscapes of the region. Guests experience a harmonious interplay between refined dishes of royal cuisine and the simple flavours of rural traditions - linked by the ritual of dividing bread and playing with symbolic spices. This gastronomic adventure is accompanied by artful cocktails with illustrious names such as Rajputana Reviver or Diwan-E-Khas. "Our vision is to create a space where tradition meets innovation," says Vishal Nagar, Managing Director.

Relais & Châteaux Le Tikehau, Tikehau, French Polynesia: Just an hour's flight from Tahiti, the islands of the Tuamotu archipelago are scattered across the endless blue of the South Pacific. This chain of coral atolls is a paradise for divers, fishermen and anyone who wants to discover the Polynesian way of life. This feeling of being far away from it all - in the heart of pure beauty - is what guests appreciate so much when they stay at Relais & Châteaux Le Tikehau. It is the only hotel on the atoll of the same name and is located on a private island, Motu Tianoa, just 15 minutes by boat from the village. Along a pink-coloured sandy beach that gently nestles into the lagoon, a handful of bungalows stand on stilts above the crystal-clear water, which is dotted with coral. Other villas line the banks of the lagoon and offer direct access to the sea. Built from local materials with thatched roofs, the guest accommodation combines comfort, elegance and simplicity. The overwater bungalows have a glass floor from which guests can observe the underwater world of the lagoon, while the bungalows under the coconut trees offer direct access to the beach. Between dives through the coral reefs and hours of relaxation on the fine sandy beach, guests can enjoy Polynesian specialities in the Poreho restaurant - or indulge in a traditional Taurumi massage with Tiare flowers in a traditional hut overlooking the lagoon. "Membership of Relais & Châteaux means becoming part of a living culture of hospitality, where every welcome in an exceptional home celebrates l'art de vivre (the art of living) and every detail reflects a sense of place and history. It is a great honour to represent a house where humanity is at the heart of everything and to contribute to preserving the values of a family where soul, beauty, gastronomy and a deep sense of the meaning of life come together to make every stay an unforgettable experience. Tikehau by Pearl Resorts is proud to be part of this network," explains Stéphane Pons, Managing Director.

Relais & Châteaux Prestonfield House, Edinburgh, Scotland: With its 17th century Dutch gabled façade and views of a 20-acre estate where Highland cattle graze amongst ancient trees, Relais & Châteaux Prestonfield House epitomises the quintessential Scottish manor house. Just a few minutes from the centre of Edinburgh, the property sits at the foot of Arthur's Seat - the famous rock that dominates the view of the Scottish capital. A true urban oasis, the hotel was built in the late 17th century by the same architect who designed the nearby Palace of Holyroodhouse - the official residence of King Charles III in Scotland - and remained in the hands of three families for more than three centuries until it was taken over by James Thomson around 20 years ago. Fascinated by the building as a child, he has devoted himself to preserving the historical heritage and everything that makes up the character and authenticity of this unique place. The communal areas and guest rooms feature original features such as ornate 17th century Cordoba leather panels and Mortlake tapestries, antique silks and velvets, period artwork, fireplaces and furniture specially commissioned for the house over three centuries. Prestonfield House is a place to experience the real Scotland - with its traditional splendour and the warm hospitality that has welcomed guests for over 335 years. Highlights of a stay include stylish afternoon tea, an exceptional wine cellar, an exquisite selection of malt whiskies and farm-to-table cuisine from chef John McMahon, served in the atmospheric Rhubarb Restaurant. "We are honoured to join Relais & Châteaux, a prestigious association that shares our commitment to authenticity, exceptional gastronomy and warm, convivial hospitality. At Prestonfield, we are passionate about creating truly memorable experiences, exceeding our guests' expectations and celebrating the best of Scotland, culture and cuisine. Becoming part of this prestigious family reinforces our commitment to these values and allows us to share the unique spirit of Prestonfield with discerning locals, travellers and like-minded hosts around the world," explains James Thomson, Owner

Relais & Châteaux L'Auberge De L'ill - Hôtel Des Berges & Spa, Illhaeusern, France: Illhaeusern is the name given in Alsace to the houses located on the banks of the tranquil River Ill. Here, in the village of the same name, the Haeberlin family opened a country inn around 150 years ago. Since the 1950s, the estate has developed into one of the best restaurants in France. Marc Haeberlin is at the head of this legendary institution of Alsatian gastronomy and represents the fourth generation of chefs at Relais & Châteaux Auberge de l'Ill - Hôtel des Berges & Spa. His cuisine showcases local produce in creative compositions and combines regional classics with modern culinary concepts, complemented by an exceptional wine list. The Auberge de l'Ill, with its inviting ambience and garden terraces framed by weeping willows, offers a particularly idyllic setting for a flavourful lunch or dinner. The tables at Les Bords de l'Ill are set in the open air, right on the banks of the river, inviting you to enjoy a relaxed meal in the shade of the willow trees. For overnight stays, guests can choose from 18 rooms and suites at the Hôtel des Berges & Spa, spread over two different living worlds. The traditional main house or the modern wooden building, designed by the renowned architect duo Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku, with several suites overlooking the Spa des Saules and the outdoor pool.

"It is a great honour for our hotel to become a member of Relais & Châteaux, a prestigious, world-renowned association with which we share our passion for gastronomy and hospitality. In the spirit of this great family, we put our expertise and enthusiasm at the service of our discerning guests to offer them unforgettable experiences. At the Auberge de l'Ill - Hôtel des Berges & Spa, we want to celebrate the art of living and share French hospitality in the heart of our region, Alsace," explains Marc Haeberlin, Head Chef

Relais & Châteaux Awasi Santa Catarina, Governador Celso Ramos, Brazil: The Emerald Coast in the south of Brazil owes its name to the lush vegetation that lines the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Far away from the hustle and bustle of crowded cities, a private peninsula opens up here as a green backdrop for the Relais & Châteaux Awasi Santa Catarina. The 25 villas, whose architecture blends harmoniously into the surroundings, are nestled under trees - with direct access to a golden sandy bay reminiscent of the adventures of Robinson Crusoe. Large panoramic windows flood the interiors with light and illuminate the contemporary décor, which blends harmoniously with natural materials. From the private terrace or the private pool, the view is directed out to the endless blue of the sea - a panorama that is mesmerising at any time of day or night, even from the hotel's own gourmet restaurant. Head chef Daniela Damasceno uses seasonal ingredients, including vegetables from her own garden, to creatively showcase the flavours of Brazilian cuisine. The Awasi Santa Catarina invites guests to immerse themselves in nature, be it hiking on the surrounding trails or water sports in the bay, before ending the day with a relaxing massage in the spa, where every treatment cabin offers a view of the ocean. "Relais & Châteaux membership is not just a recognition, but the fulfilment of a shared dream. It represents the heart and dedication of every team member who has put their passion into creating something truly special. We are deeply honoured to join a community of remarkable hoteliers and chefs with whom we share a commitment to authenticity, excellence and generosity. Being part of this inspiring family is both a privilege and an incentive to continue growing, learning and welcoming guests with the same warmth and care that brought us here," explains Elizangela Ferreira, General Manager.

Relais & Châteaux Gōra Kadan Fuji, Subashiri, Japan: Alongside the cherry trees that blossom in spring, the snow-capped Mount Fuji is one of the symbols of Japan - a highly modern culture that preserves its traditions. Relais & Châteaux Gōra Kadan Fuji invites guests to experience the Land of the Rising Sun in a tranquil setting with breathtaking views of Mount Fuji in all its seasonal splendour - the ideal place to enjoy all aspects of the Japanese lifestyle. The hotel is sheltered by a lush forest with many lakes, just a few kilometres from the country's highest mountain. Founded in 1948 by a branch of the imperial family, the ryokan has evolved over the decades into an important retreat where traditional Japanese omotenashi hospitality and ambience are combined with elegant, modern amenities. The architecture is a harmonious blend of natural elements - earth, water, fire, light and wood: Zen gardens, a colonnaded corridor, shoji screens made from traditional Japanese paper. The hotel's four restaurants serve classic, authentic Japanese cuisine, including kaiseki and kappo dishes that reflect the connection to the water and earth of Mount Fuji, as well as teppanyaki and sushi from renowned restaurants in Tokyo. To relax at Gōra Kadan Fuji, head to the onsen, the natural hot spring bath, and then to the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, a wonderland of shimmering lakes, lush forests and rugged volcanic landscapes.
