Petra and Philipp Helzle are planning a new restaurant

BAD SOBERNHEIM - A former Michelin-starred chef, a renowned hostess, a venerable chapel - and a clear claim: "Cesar & Morian" is not a restaurant like any other. Philipp and Petra Helzle, who have been influential in top gastronomy for many years, have fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening their first restaurant in the Disibodenberg Chapel. From 1 October 2025, regular restaurant operations will start at the historic site with a breath of fresh air and a lot of passion.
Located in the heart of Sobernheim, "Cesar & Morian" combines a wide variety of regional cuisine, a home-brewed beer line (DENKMALz) and an ambience that breathes history - and yet is inspired by modernity. With a high-quality à la carte menu, creative snack menu and attentive, relaxed service, the result is a place that attracts people who want more than just good food. A place to arrive, stay and experience.
"We wanted to create a place that not only has culinary appeal, but also emotional appeal. Not an off-the-peg concept - but one that develops around the guest," says Philipp Helzle, who previously ran the Michelin-starred restaurant "Jungborn" at BollAnts Spa im Park for over a decade. Helzle's cuisine is characterised by contemporary regionality, creative accents and honest craftsmanship. He deliberately refrains from striving for stars - but not for quality: "High-end meets home-style - that's our sweet spot," says Helzle.
A main course in the evening starts at 26 euros, while guests can get a lunch dish for just 15 euros. Despite his high quality standards, Philipp Helzle wants to welcome a wide audience with his large à la carte menu at fair prices. His wife Petra Helzle, an experienced hostess and expert in wine and beer pairing, adds: "We accompany our guests with heart and authenticity - and show that first-class service can also be very casual."
The historic location - the late Gothic Disibodenberg chapel - has been lovingly adapted: with a stylish dining room, gallery for events, summer terrace and space for private celebrations or corporate events. The adjoining DENKMALz brewery, which has won several awards and is deeply rooted in the region, supplies home-brewed craft beers - ideal for combining with the food as part of a "BEER pairing".
From 1 October 2025, the "Helzles Cesar & Morian" will open its doors from Wednesday to Sunday from 11:30-13:30 and from 17:30 - 23:00.
It can also be used as an event location and offers daily catering for companies and private events.
