DRESDEN: The Taschenberg Palais Kempinski Dresden has had a new Senior Executive Chef since the end of May. Marcel Spahn now brings subtle accents, precision craftsmanship and an individual signature to the overall culinary direction of the hotel.

Responsible for all in-house restaurants as well as the event and catering business, Marcel Spahn and his team of 20 chefs and trainees will bring a sophisticated, overall gastronomic focus to the renowned hotel. In an urban, elegant yet informal atmosphere, guests can expect a completely new dining concept in the restaurant "Das Palais", for example. Like a series of culinary impressions, the menu is a collage of exquisite dishes from all over the world. The menu is characterised by a subtle interplay of meat and vegetable dishes, in which the individual ingredients are given enough space to fully unfold without being overlaid by each other. In this way, more unfamiliar flavours are also used here and there to create a surprising depth of flavour.

"Modern lightness plays a major role in my cuisine. It is unagitated, but impresses with a high degree of actual craftsmanship, which I believe deserves to take centre stage. I share this attitude with my team, because only together can we create something special," emphasises Marcel Spahn. The Senior Executive Chef, whose training began in 2008 at the Romantik Hotel & Restaurant Pattis, worked in Koblenz and as Chef de Partie Gardemanager in Zurich before returning to his hometown of Dresden. This was followed in 2012 by a position as Chef de Partie Saucier at Schloss Hotel Pillnitz. From 2018 until his move to "Das Palais", Marcel Spahn managed the gastronomic concept at the VEN Restaurant at the INSIDE Hotel Dresden. He has since become a well-known and respected figure in the regional culinary world.

Managing Director, Marten Schwass, is delighted with the new additions to the team at the Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden: "The collaboration with Marcel Spahn shows once again how deeply rooted our hotel is in the region. Mr Spahn is a permanent fixture in Dresden's culinary scene. The ambition to always give his best and his tireless team spirit are key characteristics that he developed in the early years of his career as a speed skater and with which Marcel Spahn will continue to drive the gastronomic standards of the Taschenbergpalais."

"Das Palais" is open daily and welcomes hotel guests and visitors alike. In addition to the seasonally changing menus, the exclusive signature menu is also served on the spacious outdoor terrace during the summer months - a culinary experience that harmoniously combines craftsmanship and atmosphere.
