BERLIN After almost five successful years, the history of the Tante Fichte restaurant is coming to an end: The restaurant in Kreuzberg's Fichtestraße will close on 31 December 2025. The existing lease expires at the end of the year - owner Michael Köhle has made a conscious decision not to extend it. This decision is due to personal changes in the team: host Viktoria Kniely and head chef Dominik Matokanovic, who have helped shape Tante Fichte since it opened in 2021, are leaving Berlin. As a couple, they are moving to Styria, where they want to take over Kniely's family business and build a new chapter together.

The decision to close was made some time ago - with the necessary calm, foresight and the desire to let the restaurant come to a worthy end. Today, Tante Fichte stands on a solid foundation, with loyal guests, a highly motivated team and a clear culinary signature. All the more reason for Köhle to use the remaining time until the end of the year to enjoy, celebrate and savour the special atmosphere of Tante Fichte to the full.

Everything will therefore remain as usual until the end of June 2025: guests can continue to look forward to the fine dining menu that head chef Dominik Matokanovic has developed together with his team. From 1 July, Tante Fichte will then start the warm season with the already familiar summer concept: "Istrian Summer - a culinary getaway".

From Wednesday to Saturday, a summer sharing menu will be offered in three stages, including Hobotnica Salata, baked watermelon and oysters, incuni and Domberg bread with dip. For the main course, guests can look forward to market-fresh fish à la Dugi or Peceno Pecenje (baked roast). Kataifi with wild berries and yoghurt is served for dessert. The price is 60 euros per person.

If you like, you can expand your menu with additional courses: the special menu currently includes lobster pasta, half a lobster with skuta cheese and caviar from Imperial Kaviar. In the usual Tante Fichte style, owner Michael Köhle serves wines and sparkling wines by the glass, refreshing cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks - but guests can of course also order from the wine list, which includes around 500 items. Alternatively, the team continues to serve a summery 5-course fine dining menu (vegetarian or omnivorous) at a price of 98 per person.

The "Tante auf'm Gehweg" will also continue to be offered: In good weather during opening hours, there are mini cevapcici, pickled sardines, lobster pasta & co. accompanied by: white port tonic, sparkling wine, champagne, beer and a large selection of wines.

The Tante Fichte restaurant is located at Fichtestraße 31 in 10967 Berlin and is open Wednesdays to Saturdays from 6 pm. The team accepts reservations via the website https://tantefichte.berlin.
