"The city of Cologne offers a large selection of good to very good restaurants, which doesn't exactly make it any easier to decide which one to visit first. However, none of the 16 Michelin-starred restaurants particularly stands out as a must-visit. For a relaxed lunch, I spontaneously decide on maiBeck, a restaurant opposite the Cologne Philharmonie that has been awarded a Michelin star since 2015. The interior with a view of the Rhine is minimalist and sober, with an industrial flair that is more reminiscent of a stylish canteen." (Published in March 2025)
