The France 2025 ranking is led by a new frontrunner: Régis Marcon's restaurant Marcon in St. Bonnet-le-Froid takes first place in the ranking for the first time, according to Restaurant-Ranglisten.de's analysis of the scores of the most important restaurant guides for the country. It replaces a trio of three restaurants that shared the top position last year. One of the trio, the Plénitude in Paris, now follows in second place, 0.2 points behind. It shares this with the Assiette Champenoise in Tinqueux, which was in tenth place in 2024.

Overall, there is a lot of movement in the top 10. For the first time since 2022, the Troisgros in Ouches is back in the top group. It has improved from 16th place to fourth. The previous co-leaders of the previous year, La Vague d'Or in St. Tropez and the Flocons de Sel in Megève, now follow in fifth place, which they share with the Auberge du Vieux Puits in Fontjoncouse. The latter was in tenth place last year. Eighth place - after 21st place last year - was taken by L'Ambroisie in Paris. Four restaurants share ninth place: Couillon La Marine in Noirmoutier-en-l'Île (6th place last year), Arpège in Paris (4th place last year) and Mirazur in Menton (4th place last year).

The best newcomer to the list is L'Abysse Monte-Carlo in 85th place. The climber of the year is La Pomme d'Or in Sancerre, which improved from 2,721 to 245th place.

The ranking list comprises a total of 3,731 restaurants, based on ratings from the Michelin Guide, Gault&Millau, Pudlo "Cop du coeur", Opinonated about Dining, LaListe, Best Chef Awards, The World's 50 Best Restaurants and Elite Traveller.
